​I think it's also on PS5. I do not know if that makes things better for you or not? I got it on PC because 1: I actually have one! and 2: mods for when I am very bad at it may be necessary 😅😅😅

I have a rough draft of chapter 1 of a BG3 fic! I've only been rolling it around in my head since, uh, November, but hey a lot had to change. (Including Tav's name. Like, at least three times, not including every time I changed it back to the first one again.)

I want to at least get a few more chapters under my belt before I post anything... In the past, I have been happiest with my work when I waited until the whole story was written before posting any. (For my fellow-binge readers, ofc, but also to prevent the endless 'oh shit, I wish I hadn't said that bit, now I have to change everything!' carousel.)

The next question--after this first chapter is in better shape... To get a beta reader or no? Generally, I prefer it, but... I dunno. I see so many people on Ao3 and tumblr talking about having no beta, and it's just so weird to me. Is this a big thing? Does it turn any of you off as a reader?

Is it stupid that I can't settle on what tense I want to use? I used to do pretty exclusively past-tense, but got into present while writing D&D fiction with my fiance. But I end up in the weeds sometimes and I don't want to get confusing. Rookie shit, I guess, but it's been a struggle. I honestly haven't had this sort of question for myself in a while, but this fic is the first thing I've tried to write solo in a long time. (Writing with a partner has been wonderful, but it's not always going to be the way, you know?)

TL;DR -- if you see a fic isn't beta'ed do you judge? Do you care about verb tense? Am I being neurotic?
