This may be old, but... By God Still Am?

oh bgsa my beloved. short rundown of what’s been posted thus far for the newbies: Jaskier after the mountain is approached by a mage who’s like “uh hey you have a curse on you would you like me to remove it?” and Jaskier’s like UH YES??? except the curse was bigger (and stronger) than the mage expected (and he meant well but…) so he only breaks half of it and there’s a memory alteration aspect still in place, but essentially Jaskier reverted to the badly-tortured witcher he’d been when he’d been cursed… physically. but doesn’t remember. And his half of the story is just… him trying to move forward from that and figure out what’s going on and find someone who can help him. It’s not going well.

Meanwhile in Geralt’s half of the narrative, he’s dealing with the loss of an old friend and lover, another witcher, and finding his feet in the world again and eventually going looking for Jaskier after rescuing Ciri from Nilfgard.

(what’s yet to come is finally getting them in the same place, and then eventually breaking the rest of the curse. :3)

The next chapter which has been fighting me for like a YEAR now is Geralt and Ciri making their way to Kaer Morhen, and Geralt doing his best to teach her survival tricks and basics of combat and stuff.

rules: list your four fave fics you’ve written 

Okay so this is... definitely going to be 3/4ths witcher fic, but I’ve done some good writing this year okay? So, in no particular order!

1. Autumn Days That Make You Fee Sad (Doctor Who, 2008)

This is the only non-witcher fic that I look back on and go “yeah, I’m actually pretty proud of that”. There’s fics that still make me smile, but by god I was and still am deeply proud of this 12-year-old RTD S4 finale fixit. DONNA NOBLE DESERVED BETTER!

2. by god still am (The Witcher, 2020)

This fic is my baby. I love the trope of witcher!Jaskier, and I love fics where Jaskier’s been cursed somehow, and I love memory fuckery fics, so naturally I had to shove all three of those things into one fic, and I cannot wait to finish it so the whole story is out there! It’s been somewhat on a small hiatus for a bit while I get a couple other quicker-to-write ideas out, but this AU owns my soul. There’s a reason I’m a Viper. 🐍🐍🐍

3. nights without sleep and days that burn (The Witcher, 2020)

This is the one I’ve been working on all month for nano. It started back in July as a 1-shot meant to be about 10-15k, very lightly inspired by @dinahdarling​‘s Bratty Prince Julian AU, but after I got stuck about 12k in, unsure where I wanted to go with it, I started brainstorming, and now it’s got additional inspo from @inexplicifics​ and AO3 author stockholm_syndrom. It’s gotten a lot of attention, by my standards, and I’m proud of where the still-unposted parts have gone.

4. Rosemary, Daisies, and Violets (The Witcher, 2020)

I was torn about a fourth fic, because I actually love so many fics I’ve written this year, including many I haven’t finished or posted, but Rosemary was a flash of perfection out of nowhere. I wrote it over like 2 hours while seriously sleep deprived, and has a soft, gentle sort of atmosphere which is funny since it’s also a Major Character Death fic. XD

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting? (I’m curious—it varies so much for me!)

Usually only once, generally for grammatical/spelling mistakes and clarity. I also often have someone read it in gdocs and leave notes if they spot something too, but I just go through and accept those suggestions.

bgsa gets (when i get back to it *sob*) actual edits because it’s still my baby, and I think it’s the only one I’ve ever done that with, and ever thanks to @jackironsides for his beta work on that one. :3
