The moment he stepped out of the car, lugging cardboard moving boxes from the trunk just to make himself feel useful, he had peered up into Fujikasane’s pallid, unfriendly face. And beneath its leering shadow, he’d just had this most inexplicable feeling, sweating down the back of his neck, that he’d passed the last exit some time ago. That is, he was not there to stay.
That is, something was going to keep him there.
OR,
some places have learned the taste of blood. but fujikasane knows it better than most.

Sabigiyuu as a song: Achilles come down by Gang of Youths.
Except it's just Sabito's ghost yelling at Giyuu to get a grip and snap out of it while trying so hard to pull the man out of his current depressive state.
Sabito is such a punk ass bitch he’s literally gonna kiss Giyuu right on the mouth the night before they split up into separate missions for literally the first time in their entire lives so they can have absolutely 0 debrief about it later like. Sir. I know you wanted to kiss him so bad it made you stupid but could you have picked a worse time
The latest in Sabito and Giyuu’s shenanigans as Hashira and Hashira reserve is Giyuu trying to teach Sabito Dead Calm but he’s like. Holding his hands on the sword, wrapping his arms around him from behind to help him with the form, they’re whispering into each other’s hair and flushing pink with embarrassed excitement
And all the other hashira are watching like ‘hey can you guys do that normally?’
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
After rising through the ranks of the Demon Slayer Corps together, Sabito and Giyuu finally make it to Hashira and Hashira reserve. With so much change in their lives, for the first time since they were 13, their promise to never be apart is truly put to the test. Their entangled lives and complicated relationship becomes no clearer to define, despite rumors that the Water Hashira and the swordsman unwilling to leave his side might be more than friends; throughout the trials and the rumors and the change, one thing remains certain: nothing can separate the tide from his moon.
Sneak peek below!!!
Both Giyuu and Sabito had awoken together before the dawn, nerves and excitement making it impossible to sleep further. Sabito's wounds from killing Lower Three still ached, and Giyuu still walked with a slight limp from the arrow he'd taken in his leg, and even still they'd awoken entwined, as they always did. Sabito's head rested against Giyuu's shoulder, in the crook of his neck. Giyuu's arms were wrapped around Sabito's waist and back, gently running his fingers of the edges of his bandages.
On both their minds, the first night they'd spent together almost a decade ago under one blanket, offerred by Giyuu to try to jar some color, some life back into the haunted face of his new roommate, training rival, friend, brother…other half. Their last night in that room together, challenging one another in a race to Hashira. Promising they'd never be apart, ever again.
Sabito looked at him now, glowing even brighter than usual with his own golden clasp just below his chin, the warmth of the color making his ocean-colored eyes seem even more vibrant.
"Of course I'm ready." he said. How could he be anything but?
