Bhandas and Breath

The idea of a bhanda is still somewhat elusive to me. But I feel it mostly in sun salutations when i jump back from the downward dog. If I happen to engage the bhandas correctly, I can float back and feel the little lift in the core.

I read that yogis are supposed to engage bhandas throughout the entire practice. This seems extremely difficult and certainly not possible to me right now.

But it is in the inhale that the bhandas are mostly lost. So in each inhale if I consciously try to keep the bhanda engaged, this should help in the long run.
