FNV: The fruits and veggies marketing machine is here!
Fast food commercials are ubiquitous these days, making the bad-for-you foods look oh-so-delicious, especially to kids. So how do good foods compete with that when it comes to children's appetites? With marketing of their own!
Politico reports on First Lady Michelle Obama's new initiative, the FNV (Fruits 'n' Vegetables) campaign. Football stars Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick, and actresses Kristen Bell and Jessica Alba, are among the celebrities involved in the movement.
“If folks are going to pour money into marketing for unhealthy foods, then let’s fight back with ads for healthy foods," the First Lady told participants at the Building a Healthier Future Summit in Washington, D.C. this week.
