Versions with lyrics under the cut
Hey, friend!
While I'm working on art for you, I've been thinking...
If it possible to send a song and you really share your opinion about it, then why not try it, huh? I hope, you really don't mind...

Feel free to tell me to go to hell, I deserve it :}
Oh hello my dear! Yes, songs, I love it! Now, let's see what you sent me here...
So, it seems like a russian song for a movie or something. Sounds sad, a bit depressing maybe (and we'll come to that point later). To be honest, it's not really my kind of music, although it seems decent movie music (by which I mean, there are certain types of songs that fit very good to the atmosphere of a movie, but they may not work besides that).
Then again it seems to be music from the 2000. I was thinking, what have I done back then? To be fair, it was a time in my life where I didn't care a lot about music. But! To get to know that band (and possibly why you sent it to me), I googled them.
So, apparently, this band is called BI-2. It's a russian/belarussian band that exists since 1985 (!) and was, according to Wikipedia, one of the most popular bands in Russia the 2000s. (Which made me think - why weren't they on the soundtrack to Nochnoj Dozor? Or were they, perhaps?) Wikipedia says, they do a lot of songs with cinematic references, but what kind of genre they actually are, is not quite clear to me.
Now, you also sent me two cover versions, of which I was of course most intrigued by the german one. It's also done by Russians, according to the accent.
And because this has been done much later, it's a more clear version of the song, which sounds even more sad now, but also pretty, pretty nice (yes, the original one didn't have the best sound according to its age, but now I can see the appealing parts of the melody).
The lyrics do have a meaning for the movie, I believe, but they also show a little glimpse of the original russian poetic style. Intonation is different in russian, and also, due to the cultural background, the language itself seems a lot more poetic to me. The german version is very interesting (and I'm sorry, I didn't bother with the english one, this one was just more easily to grasp for me).
All in all, I have to say, that seems a band (and a way of music, maybe) that somebody that hasn't been in the shoes of a russian in the 2000s can hardly grasp. Some music styles are a very local thing (which is good, sometimes, Neue Deutsche Welle was awful and nobody should know about it!). This seems like something you would look upon and think: ah, that's my childhood. And you share this particular kind of childhood with some people, while others would say: what? I listened to Grunge at the time. That being said, and if I'm right, thanks for letting me have a peek into a time and space I knew nothing about!
Би-2 — Пекло
nothing just Max who shared my fanart on his birthday 😳
Человек, который удивил всех [The Man Who Surprised Everyone] (Aleksey Chupov and Natasha Merkulova, 2018)
А дальше - это главное, похожий на тебя В долгом пути я заплету волосы лентой. И неспособный на покой, Я знак подам тебе рукой, Прощаясь с тобой, Как будто с легендой.
And later on, much like yourself, I'll tie my hair with a ribbon And, preparing for the long journey, I'll restlessly give you a hand sign Saying farewell to you, as if to a legend.
There will be no other road,
If you go into hell, I'll follow

Дальше не будет дороги другой,
Если ты в пекло - я за тобой.
