(part 2 cont….)
(Y/N’s POV)
Chan was still mumbling directions and flight details on the phone when you decide to sit down at the kitchen table. Apparently the plan was that in two days time, due to flights… Hyunjin (in your body), Ruth, and Chan’s parents would be coming to korea.
The whole situation was still so confusing. How did this happen in the first place, and how the hell were you going to switch back?? would you be stuck in hyunjin’s body forever??? A cheerful knock at Chan’s front door interrupted your thoughts and because you were so lost in thought you didn’t think twice in answering and opening the door.
“오, 현진아, 다행이다. 몸이 안 좋다고 해서 수프랑 브라우니 좀 가져왔어.”
(Oh hyunjin! Good, you’re okay. I brought you some soup and some brownies because I heard you weren’t feeling good)
Blonde hair, framed by the little sunshine of the afternoon and a wide smile greet your eyes. Felix. You look down. With brownies. Of course if you were you… in your own body you would be beaming with excitement at the literal angel in front of you. But as the predicament cycles… the beautiful man is speaking fluent korean to you. If you were in your own body, you’d be absolutely losing it right now. The universe handing you an actual angel at the door with baked goods. But instead, reality reasserts itself as the man in front of you keeps speaking fluent Korean.
He steps inside easily, like this is completely normal, chatting as he sets the food down on the counter. You trail after him silently, nodding along even though you don’t understand a single word. He keeps saying Hyunjin, and it takes you a beat too long to remember that name belongs to you right now.
Your head snaps up when he addresses you again.
You smile politely. A little stiff. A little late.
Felix pauses. He sits down across from you and squints, head tilting.
“Chan said you were sick,” he says slowly, eyes narrowing. “But you look completely fine.”
Without missing a beat, you fake a cough.
Felix shoots up from his chair instantly, pointing at you.
“Oh, so you understood that, huh?”
Before you can react, he grabs your face. Hyunjin’s face. Pulls it close until your noses are practically touching. You freeze, eyes wide, while he laughs lowly and then pulls back like he didn’t just invade every boundary you had left.
“You’re not Hyunjin.”
Not helping your case, you and Chan who just got off the phone yell “How’d you know?!”
Felix smirks and just shrugs, “You’re aura isn’t the same as Jinnie.”
You’d giggle if you weren’t so freaked out and Felix must sense the tension rolling through you because he asks softer, eyes watching your…Hyunjin’s face closely.
“So who are you?”
You open your mouth to answer but Chan comes up and squeezes your—Hyunjin’s—shoulders and calmly explains.
“Lix, you’re right. This isn’t Hyunjin. The other morning our friend here woke up in Hyunjin’s body… while Hyunjin woke up in hers… across the world.” His lips press into a thin line but you can’t help but notice that this body relaxes at his touch. “Felix unofficially meet Y/N. She’s a STAY too.”
You can practically hear the smirk in his voice and you side eye him in amusement but Felix’s grin lights up brightly. He reaches for your hands over the table, his weirdo voice coming out as he shimmies his shoulders.
“Oh are you?? Who’s your bias??”
Chan laughs already knowing the answer but you can’t help but blush with the little detail you didn’t tell Chan earlier. Clearing your throat you shyly answer.
“Uh I actually bias you and hyunjin. I’m like a split 50/50 with you two.”
Chan yips behind you like he’s been personally attacked.
“WHAT?!” He looks genuinely offended. “You told me Hyunjin was your only bias!”
You have to stifle a laugh as you turn slightly. “No, Channie. You asked who my bias was, and I said Hyunjin. I just didn’t tell you I had another one.”
He tongues his cheek, eyes narrowing as he processes your very intentional wording.
“Yeah… and do you have any more biases then?”
Felix snickers under his breath, clearly enjoying the chaos, while Chan crosses his arms and waits for your answer like it’s a court ruling.
You shake your head slowly. “No.”
Felix breaks into a full gremlin grin, shoulders shaking with silent laughter. Chan lets out a puff of air, still pretending to be annoyed.
Then you add softly, absently playing with Hyunjin’s hands, voice casual but deliberate,
“Mm… but you’re my bias wrecker though.”
Chan straightens instantly.
His entire demeanor changes. His shoulders lift, his eyes brighten, and his voice drops just a touch as a grin spreads across his face.
“Oh?” he says. “Am I?”
Exasperated and blushing, you throw your, Hyunjin’s, hands up.
“Why are we even talking about this right now? I don’t understand how this is supposed to help me get back into my body.”
Chan smirks at your deflection, clearly clocking it for what it is, then exhales and nods, slipping back into leader mode as if flipping a switch.
“Okay. Fair. You’re right.”
Felix, however, perks up immediately, curiosity lighting his face.
“Wait, speaking of your body,” he says casually, “what do you look like?”
You and Chan both turn to stare at him like he just asked the most unhinged question possible.
Felix blinks, big eyes wide, shoulders lifting in a helpless shrug.
“What?”

(Hyunjin’s Pov)
Ruth keeps her hat pulled low and her hoodie zipped up as she walks beside Hyunjin, who is still very much stuck in her best friend’s body, through TSA.
She leans closer and asks quietly,
“How weird does it look that two American girls are walking through the airport with Bang Chan’s parents?”
Hyunjin can’t help the giggle that slips out. He tightens the hoodie strings, instinctively trying to hide his face even though he knows no one is looking for him like this. Everyone around them just sees a normal girl at the airport. No cameras. No recognition. No pressure.
He shrugs and leans down toward her ear as they follow Chan’s parents through the line.
“I’m hoping fans won’t recognize or post his parents,” he murmurs in English, careful and soft. “And that we’ll just look like… people going the same direction.”
Ruth smiles at his accent and nods.
“Yeah. I don’t want to seem like a sasaeng or anything. Stayville would eat us alive.”
Hyunjin perks up at that, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
She notices immediately.
“What?”
He laughs quietly, fingers absently fixing the fan-made bracelets stacked on this body’s wrists.
“Stayville,” he says. “You’re on it?”
Ruth purses her lips, caught, then shakes her head dramatically.
“What? No. Of course not.”
Hyunjin hums, clearly amused, then shrugs.
“Mm. Well, Y/N is. She’s pretty active.” His smile grows a little. “And funny.”
Ruth’s eyes widen. She exhales sharply and tips her head back, staring at the ceiling.
“She’s going to kill me.”

(Y/N’s Pov)
Felix ends up staying for most of the day, talking with you and Chan. Mostly you, really, since Chan keeps pacing back and forth, juggling calls with his parents and double checking flight times, terminals, and arrival windows like it’s a military operation.
Felix plops down beside you on the couch, grinning as he scrolls through your socials on Hyunjin’s phone.
“Y/Nnieee, you’re so cute, oh my god.”
Your answering groan gives away just how embarrassed you are, but Felix clearly couldn’t care less. He happily keeps scrolling through your TikToks and Instagram, laughing softly at certain posts.
He lights up when he finds your concert photo, the same one Chan had mentioned earlier. Felix sets the phone down and turns toward you, curious and genuinely interested.
“So… how did you get into us?”
You think for a second, then shrug.
“Mmm, I actually started following you and Hyunjin a few years ago because of the Louis Vuitton and Versace ambassadorships. Then a few years later I got introduced to the group. I watched some music videos and honestly… as a graphic designer, I was obsessed with the visuals and the concepts behind your discography and music videos.”
“Oh,” Felix says brightly. “You’re an artist too, right?”
You nod and hand Hyunjin’s phone back to him so he can pull up your online portfolio. He scrolls through your work, eyes widening here and there, clearly impressed.
Chan reappears from his room wearing sweats and a tank top, looking exhausted but relieved.
“Felix, you should probably head back to the dorm. We need to get to bed soon. We’re picking everyone up from the airport early tomorrow.”
Felix immediately looks like a kicked puppy, but he hands the phone back, wraps you in a quick hug, and then leans over to mumble something in Chan’s ear before heading out.
Once the door clicks shut behind him, the dorm settles into quiet.
You shift slightly on the couch, your voice low.
“Uh… what about Changbin?”
Chan shakes his head and walks over, sitting beside you.
“I told him to stay at mine with Innie while I… ‘take care of you.’” He makes air quotes, clearly amused.
You nod, then mumble softly,
“I don’t know why you did that. You are taking care of me.”
You feel his gaze linger on you, on Hyunjin’s side profile. He huffs quietly, then smiles before sucking in a small hiss, fidgeting with his hands.
“Is it weird,” he asks carefully, “that I’m kind of excited to meet you… like, in your normal body?”
The question hangs between you, gentle and sincere, carrying more weight than either of you expected.
You can’t help the surprised laugh that slips out of you. Your hands rest in your lap, mirroring his, as you mumble,
“Can’t imagine why… you seem pretty fond of Jinnie,” you tease softly, glancing at him from the corner of your eye.
He barks a laugh, clearly thinking your response was going somewhere else entirely, then reaches out and messes up your hair in this borrowed body.
“Yeah, I get to see him nearly every day,” he says easily. “It’s not often I get to talk to a gorgeous woman who’s clearly funny and ambitious.”
The smile he gives you is knowing. Hyunjin’s cheeks heat instantly, and you laugh again, softer this time.
“You’re shameless, Christopher,” you say, shaking your head. “But you’d be surprised. I’m normally just as flirty with you.” You pause, then add with a small grin, “Maybe I’m just… out of my element.”
He laughs at that, the sound warm and genuine. “Yeah? I can’t wait to see it then.”
Gently taking Hyunjin’s hand, his grip is light as he tugs you up from the couch and tips his head toward Hyunjin’s bedroom.
“Go on, love,” he says quietly. “Go get some sleep.”
Fear washes through you and your voice cracks softly. “We will get switched back right?” The emotion in your voice racks through him as your eyes glisten slightly. He nods and swipes gently at Hyunjin’s cheeks.
“Yeah,” Chan says softly. “We will find a way, okay? No matter what. Yeah?”
His hand rests gently at the back of your head, steady and grounding, like he’s trying to physically anchor you to the moment.
“We’ll figure it out,” he continues. “We’ll get you both switched back… and then…”
You swallow and look up at him.
“And then?”
His eyes hold yours, determination flickering there along with something warmer. He inhales, then a familiar smirk breaks through.
“And then,” he says lightly, “I’ll finally get to meet you with your beautiful face and not have to keep flirting with my member’s face.”
He laughs softly, shaking his head.
You laugh too, rolling your eyes as you bump his shoulder with yours.
“Please. Y’all already have almost as much tension as Minsung. Don’t play with me.”
His eyes widen, ears flushing red instantly.
“Eh, what? I… I dunno…”
You laugh again, lighter now.
“I should head to bed,” you say. “Thanks for making me laugh, Chan.”
Right as you reach Hyunjin’s door, he blurts out behind you,
“Wait, can STAYs really tell?!”
Laughing, you wave him off and step inside, letting the door close behind you as sleep finally claims you.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
Muffled voices wake you hours later.
Soft sheets cling to you, and the faint scent of musk and flowers fills the room as you blink into the naturally lit space of Hwang Hyunjin’s bedroom. You sigh deeply.
Days. Literal days in your bias’ body.
It still doesn’t feel real.
And yes… you caved. You showered. That alone was an experience you may never recover from.
You slip out of bed and head for the bedroom door, but it swings open suddenly and you freeze.
Face to… kind of face with… yourself.
Both of you scream.
The sound echoes through the apartment as Chan, Ruth, Chan’s parents, and yes, Felix, watches in stunned horror and fascination.
“Oh my gosh,” you yell, staring down at your own body. “This is so weird. I’m taller than myself. Is that what the top of my head looks like?”
At the exact same time, Hyunjin, trapped in your body, is shouting in rapid Korean.
“왜 내가 작아졌어?! 이게 무슨 일이야?! 왜 사람들이 다 커 보여?!”
Somehow you end up colliding, grabbing at each other, patting shoulders and arms like you’re checking for injuries you can’t even name. After a moment of collective chaos, you both freeze and slowly turn toward the rest of the room.
You make it to Ruth in two strides. Scooping her up into a tight hug is effortless with Hyunjin’s strength and her smaller frame.
“Hi, Blue,” She laughs awkwardly, to you too it’s normal but the everyone else it looks like Hyunjin hugging a fan like his life depends on it. “This is… a lot.”
You’re close to tears just hearing her voice. You set her down and immediately start talking quietly, exchanging a rushed summary of the last seventy two hours.
Across the room, Hyunjin, in your body, does the same with Chan. His hands move animatedly as he talks, eyes wide and expressive, clearly still reeling from everything.
And for the first time since this whole thing started, you’re all finally in the same place. The relief is real, but the anxiety still coils in your chest. You still don’t know how this happened in the first place. And without that, everything else feels shaky.
You clear your throat, breaking the fragile quiet.
“Okay… how do we switch back though?” You glance between everyone. “Like, we don’t even know how it happened in the first place.”
Voices erupt immediately. Everyone starts talking over one another, ideas stacking and colliding.
“Maybe it’s stress related.”
“if it happened when you were asleep, then what, you guys sleep again?”
“Did anything weird happen the night before?”
Your head spins as suggestions pile up, until Felix suddenly claps his hands together, loud enough to cut through the noise.
“I have an idea.”
You barely have time to ask what he means before you and Hyunjin are pushed together by his hands. Both of you groaning in response at you bonk your heads together. “Ow???” “Dude?” your collective response is throw at a wincing Felix and he apologizes.
“Sorry…”
Chan can’t help the bubble of bewildered laughter, “Lixie what made you think that would work?”
He waves his hands defensively at the two of you, “I don’t know, it’s always different on how they switch back in the movies!”
You rub your(hyunjin’s) chin, as he rubs his(your) head to soothe the ache before ruth tsks and then herds the two of you towards Hyunjin’s bedroom. The door shuts behind you with a solid click.
And then.
Locked. Together.
Your eyes meet and widen. This is even weirder looking at yourself. You both start shouting at the door, wondering why they would lock you both in here together, until Chan’s voice comes through.
“Try talking to each other, maybe you’ll find the connection that started this thing in the first place.”
—-
Eventually, you find yourself sitting on the edge of the bed as Hyunjin paces through his room. He hasn’t said a word since Felix shoved you both inside, and the silence starts to press at your ribs until you cave.
“I… I didn’t touch any of your stuff,” you blurt. “It felt… wrong. Chan had to convince me to change clothes at some point. I just didn’t want to overstep.”
Hyunjin, still wearing your body, pauses. He turns to you, head tilting with that familiar, curious expression.
“You’re better than me,” he admits easily. “I did your makeup. And I went through your art collection. And maybe the books.. on your shelf.”
You watch your own face heat up, color blooming across your cheeks, and the sight of it makes your stomach flip in the weirdest way. The fact that you don’t even mind his curiosity somehow makes it worse.
Silence sifts between you two before he leans back against the desk, arms crossing loosely as he faces you. “What was the craziest part for you? Waking up, I mean.”
You snort softly. “I woke up to Binnie screaming… something in Korean.” You laugh, shaking your head. “And as much as I’ve been trying to learn, I have no idea what he said. Then I obviously shot out of bed and realized I was, uh… in your body.”
Hyunjin waves a dismissive hand, laughing. “Sounds like a normal morning for me.” He pauses, then adds with perfect timing, “The craziest part for me was waking up with boobs.”
Your eyes widen before a cackle escapes you, loud and unfiltered.
He shakes his head, your head, with quiet amusement before sighing. “This whole thing is so… odd. I’m watching myself laugh. Live. Outside of my own body.”
You nod immediately, throat tight. You’re the only person in the world who actually understands this part. “Yeah. It’s really freaking me out. And I keep overthinking like… what if we can’t get back?”
He crosses the room and sits beside you on the bed. Only then do you notice your nails. He had painted them. You let out a small puff of a laugh before he gently takes your hand, thumb brushing over the polish.
“Ruth and Chan told me you bias me,” he says quietly. “And after the last seventy two hours…” He trails off, then exhales. “I think we might be pretty similar.”
Your stomach flips.
“Is there any chance,” he continues, voice softer, “that you were in your own head the other night?”
You pull your bottom lip between your teeth, chewing on it without thinking. You don’t miss the way his eyes flicker at the habit. Seeing it on himself.
When you don’t answer right away, he sighs. Adds gently, “Because I did.”
You tilt your head to look at him. He keeps his gaze on your intertwined hands, shoulders heavy in a way you recognize too well.
“I… had a hard time this last year with vocals,” he admits. “I felt like my voice wasn’t as… good.” A small, humorless laugh leaves him. “And I didn’t know if I could keep doing this. Performing. Because if I can’t be good for STAYs…” He swallows. “How can I be good at anything else?”
Your chest aches.
“I get that,” you say softly. “When you fall short of your craft, the thing you’re best at… it feels like the whole world caves in.”
You squeeze his hand. “If it helps, Jinnie… you’re my biggest inspiration.”
His head lifts, eyes finally meeting yours.
“I really got into Stray Kids early last year,” you continue. “And at the time, as an artist, I felt completely uninspired. Empty. But the way you live and see the world felt so similar to how my brain works. I saw your art and thought… maybe I can push myself further.”
Your vision blurs, but you keep going.
“Now I’m about to finish my Bachelor’s degree. And yeah, there were hard moments. At times I felt like I wasn’t good enough for the career I want.” You smile faintly. “But you know what I did when those thoughts spiraled?”
His eyes search your face. Hope and fear tangled together. Something inside you heals as you look at your own face and say it.
“I came back to you. To the boys. To the songs you wrote, Hyunjin.” Your voice wavers. “Your music saved me. It picked me back up. It reminded me to keep fighting, keep creating, keep trying new things.”
You inhale shakily. “Not just your music either. Your dancing. Your content. All of it. I can’t even imagine how hard it is to exist under expectations all the time…”
Your…His thumb rubs slow circles over the knuckles of your hand.
“But what you give to the world, to us STAYs… it’s enough. It’s always been enough. Even if all you do someday is take a moment to breathe.”
His breathing stutters inside your chest, shallow and uneven, before the tears finally spill. He doesn’t say anything. He just stares at you with your own eyes, lashes trembling, like he’s afraid that if he speaks the moment will shatter.
Then, slowly, he leans forward.
Not rushing. Not dramatic. Just instinct.
You wrap your arms around him, around yourself, for once. And something breaks.
He clutches the back of your shirt like it’s an anchor, forehead pressing into your shoulder. His shoulders shake, silent at first, then uneven breaths slipping out like he’s been holding them in for far too long. When his fingers curl tighter, it’s like he’s grounding himself in proof that this is real. That you’re real.
No more words are spoken.
There’s nothing left to explain. Nothing left to defend.
You’ve laid your hearts bare, deepest fears exposed, and somehow found the only other person in the world who truly sees you without effort. Sniffles and hiccups fill the small space between your bodies until your head begins to throb from crying too hard, too long.
You both pull in deep breaths at the same time. Then you wince from the intense pounding in your head.
You heard his own groans from beside you and when you tried to open your eyes the world spun. Wincing from the whiplash you lean against the bed underneath you and the pain slips away into sleep.
—-
Chan’s pacing outside the door. Ruth’s perched up against the couch, mouthing at her manicured thumb watching him wear a hole into the floor.
“It’s been hours and they haven’t texted or asked for food. I need to go in there.” He says worriedly, turning towards the door.
He takes two steps toward the door.
Ruth immediately bolts upright and blocks him. “Chris, no.”
He stops, frustrated. “Ruth—”
“They need to figure out whatever’s happening,” she says firmly. “And then they’ll come out when they’re ready. They’re fine. If Y/N was uncomfortable, she would’ve come out.”
Chan exhales sharply, but his face tells on him. Worry tangled with something else. Something deeper.
Ruth clocks it instantly and lets out a laugh. “You seriously think they’re messing around in there?”
His awkward shrug is answer enough.
She laughs louder this time, shaking her head. “Our best friends are literally stuck in each other's bodies right now and you're JEALOUS. Oh this is good. You do realize she loves you right?”
Chan’s head whips towards her in surprise, “What are you talkin about? She biases Hyunjin AND Felix! I-”
She cuts him off with a wave of her hand, “Look Channie, her and I are newer to K-pop so when we got into it we were told that a bias was the closest to our personality, not who we were the most attracted to. Sure she’s attracted to Hyunjin… but that’s literally WHO she is. Her and him are literally the same person, As if the last few days haven’t made that painfully obvious.”
Chan goes quiet, watching her explain before she sighs again looking at him with a smile. “She always talks about you, Chan. Hyunjin might be her bias… but she’s got it bad for you.”
Chan opens his mouth, stunned.
And then the bedroom door opens.
Everyone jumps.
Hyunjin’s body steps out calmly, like nothing about this situation is insane. Felix looks like he’s seen a ghost.
“But— I locked that—” Felix stammers.
Hyunjin lifts a small key between his fingers. “Binnie installed an internal unlocking mechanism on my side of the door,” he explains evenly. “Different key. So I could lock myself in without relying on the members.”
He pockets the key like this is completely normal information to drop.
Chan stares. Ruth blinks.
Felix squints at him for a long second.
Then his face breaks open like the sun and he charges forward, wrapping Hyunjin in a massive hug. “YEAH. IT’S HIM.”
Cheers erupt through the apartment. Loud, chaotic, relieved. You did it. You actually did it. Bodies switched. Souls back where they belonged.
Hyunjin laughs softly into the hug, still a little breathless from everything, but then his eyes widen and he quickly presses a finger to his lips. “Shh. She’s uh… still asleep.”
The noise immediately dies down to whispers.
He scratches the back of his own head, sheepish and a little fond. “Yeah, she’s gonna be pretty tired. Time zone stuff.”
His eyes lift then, catching Ruth’s across the room.
She waves her manicured fingers lightly, but there’s a faint flush coloring her cheeks when their gazes meet. He lingers by his door for a moment before her mouth quirks into a soft, “Hi.”
That’s all it takes.
Hyunjin grins like a kid and crosses the room in two strides, scooping her up into a hug. “Hi Ruthie.”
She squeaks in surprise, laughing as she steadies herself in his arms. When he sets her down, she smooths her hair nervously. “I, uh… hi Hyunjin. It’s nice to meet you. In your own body.”
He laughs and pulls her in for another hug before finally stepping back and properly introducing her to Felix, who looks way too pleased about everything.
Chan watches from the doorway, quiet and fond, arms folded loosely as the energy settles. When he hears soft movement behind the bedroom door, his attention snaps back.
He gently cracks it open.
What he does not expect is you, sleep-heavy and disoriented, hair a complete mess, rubbing your eyes as you shuffle toward the doorway like you’re still halfway dreaming.
He opens the door wider instinctively.
And then you’re there.
In your own body. Real. Warm. Familiar in a way that hits him right in the chest.
This girl he’s spent the last few days getting to know, talking to, worrying about, laughing with. Now standing in front of him, back where you belong.
Something in him goes soft.
You blink up at him, eyes still blurry. “Why is everyone… yelling?”
Your eyes flutter as the world settles back into place, focus sharpening bit by bit. And then you see him clearly. Your smile blooms automatically. Heat rushes to your cheeks without asking permission.
You do not hesitate. You step forward and straight into his open arms, pressing into him like it is the most natural thing in the world. He wraps you up instantly, holding you tight, a soft grunt slipping from his chest at the contact like he has been bracing for this without realizing it.
You mumble into him, voice small and warm, “Hi Chris.”
His laugh rumbles through you, gentle and relieved, and he pulls back just enough to really look at you. Your face. Your eyes. The girl whose mind and heart he has spent days getting to know.
“Hi, Y/N.”
—-
Eventually you spin toward Ruth and wrap her up in a tight hug, letting out a relieved laugh that you’re finally back to your usual height. Hyunjin and Chan clasp each other on the back, sharing a laugh, before Chan pulls him into a proper hug. Felix, ever the cheerleader, volunteers to make everyone some food, citing the emotional chaos of the past few days as justification, and the apartment slowly fills with the smell of comfort and laughter. It’s weird. It’s new. But it’s exciting.
You nestle in at Hyunjin’s table alongside Ruth and Chan like it’s the most normal dinner in the world, and when Chan grabs your hand under the table, and whispers “So now that I’ve met you officially… how would you like to see Korea since you’re already here?”
The blush seems to remain around this man and you quietly dip your head towards him curiously, but he continues nervously before you can answer. “I mean it’s about be the weekend anyway and you and Ruth are already here… may as well make it the trip.. yah?”
Smiling wide you look over at Ruth on your other side who had picked up on part of the conversation during her own with Hyunjin and she shrugs with a smirk, “Why not?”
Grinning, you meet Chan’s gaze directly, taking in his features properly for the first time with your own eyes, and nod. “Let’s DO IT.”
