I step into Andy's house, and the warmth hits me immediately, making me feel safe. My eyes find him as he sets his keys down on the counter, his calm, quiet presence soothing me. There's something about him tonight that I can't stop thinking about. I pull out my phone and quickly text Lucy, letting her know I'm home safe. A quick glance at Andy and I hit send, tucking my phone back into my pocket. The tension I felt all evening starts to fade, but there's something else, something I can't quite shake.
The image of him standing up to Aron flashes in my mind—how firm his voice was, how he didn't back down. Aron had been crossing the line, and Andy was there, protecting me without hesitation. My heart races just thinking about it, and before I can stop myself, I close the space between us.
Before he even realizes what I'm doing, I'm in his arms. I can feel his surprise, but it fades quickly as I press against him, my fingers gripping his shirt. "I can't stop thinking about what you did tonight," I whisper, my voice breathless. "You have no idea what that meant to me."
