I turned in a library book that was due on the 25th even though I only had 57 pages left. I checked the website hours later and it said it's overdue, which means they didn't empty the outdoor book drop. I could've kept it tonight to finish. It's just sitting in there, waiting for the morning shift.

Book questions: H & V
Ask Games: Books and You
H: What’s the longest book you’ve ever read?
Ok yes I ended up visually comparing some books and then looking up their page counts.... but ok this is a tricky question. The longest in terms of page count or the one that simply took the longest to get through. The Roald Dahl Omnibus: Perfect Bedtime Stories for Sleepless Nights is not something I'd recommend carting around in your luggage/ backpack if you're hurting for space. Coming in at 681 pages - and did, in fact, freak me out a bit regarding certain stories - I'd say it's a contender. (Anna Karenina in comparison is 838.) I was going to say it was A Breath of Snow and Ashes (a whopping 993 pages...) but nope, it's The Fiery Cross with 1443. Even then I'm still gasping for more.
V: What’s your reading goal for this year?
I've kind of bombed my reading goals in terms of books for the past two or three years? My fault for focusing on gardening and writing. For awhile I was reading before/ after I got to work as a way to just not have to think about the job for a bit so I was knocking back some decent numbers for reading goal counts. We're talking 25-50 books, not including reading short stories and oneshots and things. This year? I've set the count to 10. We'll see how that goes.
Book questions:
A, C, D, X please!
Ask games: Books & You
A: What’s the first book you see with a red spine?
Sherlock Holmes || Short Stories
C: Do you remember the first book you ever read?
I imagine it was one of the golden spine kids books, or something along those lines. I remember being caught up in The Boxcar Children series when those school book fairs would happen.
D: What book do you hate that most others love?
Hate is such a strong word… I’m sure there’s a book I struggled to get through and eventually just set aside. Nothing immediately comes to mind? Certainly nothing jumping out at me from the shelves.
X: What book has your favorite cover art?
Ooooh actually my cousin just got me one recently that is so friggin awesome it’s hard to really accurate describe. The Octunnumi Fosbit Files Prologue by Trevor Alan Foris
Book questions: L
Ask games: Books & You
L: What’s your favorite guilty-pleasure read?
You know... I don't know that I have a guilty-pleasure read? At least not on my bookshelves. Scanning the titles there isn't one that I'd try to hide the cover, or do something like remove the dust cover or otherwise try to disguise or make it more difficult for others to know what I'm reading.
Thanks for the ask, Binxy!
