now you got me thinking. the first three to come to mind are the united states of mexico, the united kingdom, and the united arab emirates

Those are the ones I thought of too. I guess UK and Mexico have some leeway, since their names do include unique country names and the ‘united’ part is just describing what kind of country they are, but UAE is just as bad as USA as far as oddly bland, descriptive country names go
