Today is Dakota's first heavenly birthday. He would have been turning 16 today. Its been 6 months since he passed away, and I still cannot stop thinking about him and missing him. He and I did everything together for the full 15 years he was on this earth, and I loved every second of it. I just wish we could have had more time...

As some people may know, I'm a very spiritual person. Not religious, but spiritual. I have experiences with spirits and the like. I frequently have dreams about Dakota, and I believe he visits through them. This drawing is how he appeared to me in one, a few months back. As crazy as it may seem, he appeared to me in a human form, and this is kind of what he looked like. I figured it would make a meaningful tribute to him.

I'm booked 5 weeks out and I took this dog on fifteen minutes notice cause I just had to know what "so matted it was sent away from petsmart" looked like. She took the dog to her vet per their recommendation and the vet said to call us.

Yeah, it looked not great. Super nice dog that I had to 40 the lower legs of. My 7 skip stopped cutting it right around the hips.

Face turned out cute, though.

I did have to explain to his mom not to judge the other groomer because it's so much better to send someone away if you don't have the tools or experience than to injure a dog trying to power through.

Like I have skip tooth blades and ten years in grooming shops have mercy on the poor fresh out of academy groomer you probably scared the hell out of today, damn.
