a lot of 'don't get a pet unless you can afford xyz' and not enough 'don't get a pet if you can't imagine euthanizing it'

a little while ago i had a conversation with someone on here that suggested livestock have better welfare security than the general pet population, because at least they get euthanized when their health falls below function. which is a very uncomfortable thought, but i can get there.

also idk who needs to hear this but it is. ok. allowed. fair even. to euthanize a pet before it collapses and/or is in acute distress.

#speaking as someone who has made the mistake of euthanising too late #but never too early.

anyway this is Melis. Melis is 8.5 weeks old. Melis is a Japanese spitz and Luna's half-niece. Melis has been with us since yesterday. So far we think Melis is pretty neat.

"oh you have three shelties? you must love barking LOL" i hate barking and luckily my dogs only bark when stressed or understimulated, and when my dogs are stressed or understimulated i make them be not that. hope that helps :)

#sometimes they bark a little in play #the occasional alert #both of which stop.

it always shocks me how small your dogs are, shetlands are relatively popular in my area and I think every single one Ive met has been at least double their size

troj is even borderline oversized!

#she would be safely in size by AKC bc they dont differentiate between male and female size #but by RKC and FCI 38 is top height for female #skrappie is 36-37 and as close to ideal as you can get
