Wow ok so we're cooked. I rewatched the trailer at 0.25x twice. Alright lots of ramblings and theories for tadc episode 8 bellow. I'm going insane
Truman show. One of my theories for how it will end is Caine convincing/tricking them to think they've escaped by altering their brains, especially with his want to replicate the "macroverse". This supports that
Them looking at their hands could also support this. Also, wheres Ragatha? I am not analyzing floor tiles chat
Jax with the hot coco. Could be a flashback, but I think that Caine could be replicating the past. Especially with:
Queenie. Queenie is here. Again, this could be a flashback, but with how Kinger isn't looking at her and with how Caine is being, I have a theory.
Caine wants everyone to like him. But they miss their friends, so they're never happy. So give them their friends back! Aw, but their code is corrupted. Well we can just replicate that with an npc version, good as new.
I think Caine is going to create ai versions of the dead cast to try and get them to like him with a hero narrative. I think Kinger will see through this, hence why he looks like that. This is also supported by that shot of the hot coco and how dramatic it is, though this could just be a pan up to the start of a flashback.
Everyone is distressed. That makes sense. And we know Jax is going a bit wonky, but he masks. He masks hard and doesn't show those emotions to the rest of the cast unless its anger. In that first shot he looks scared. Honestly he looks the most scared of everyone. And he's showing that emotion, that fear, in front of the others, even if only for a moment. It's bad
The color symbolism in this show I can't. We know what the red and blue is. Staying vs leaving. Ai vs humanity. Bad vs good. We've also seen this with the bomb before, but the colors on this one are red, blue, green, yellow, and a purple casing. It's obviously a very colorful show, but I think there's something else. On the couches we have red: Pomni, Ragatha, Kinger. Blue has no one. Green has Gangle, and on purple we have Jax, who is isolated yet again. I'm not sure what the other colors mean, but I feel like there's something to it, especially with how prominent that green wire is.
Again with the red and the blue. With how it's cutting to Caine, this could imply that he is making a choice. Keep them or let them leave. His happiness or their happiness. I doubt either choice will meet it's desired outcome, as Caine doesn't really understand.
I don't personally think the "everyone escapes except Kinger" thing will happen, but feed the theorists. This could also be Kinger confronting Caine. With what we've seen of Kinger so far in the trailer, and with what happens at the end of episode 7, I think there's a decent chance that Kinger will gain back full autonomy. Caine wants them to like him, and can see that they don't want Kinger to be like that. Also, with them knowing he can mess with their heads, the cast can easily come to the conclusion that he did that to Kinger, meaning they might make him fix him.
Ok speed round cause I don't have much to say about this stuff but still want to point it out
I think this is some sort of window. I can't tell what's in it, but is also reminds me of the globes that had adventures in them last episode. With how big this one is, it might just be a huge, complicated world. If I had to guess, I'd say either the entire circus, or Caine's macroverse project
Along with that, we're seeing the office again, aka the macroverse
This could just be an animation error, but the colors of his eyes swaps
The quality is shit cause it's a screenshot, but this frame is really well rendered and has great composition. Idk it's just a very pretty frame for some reason
Also idk where to add this but I don't think they're escaping. I keep thinking about "there is meaning to be found in a stagnant life" and holy crap dude. I love this show I've never theorized like this
