Day #2199 Big Drill Car - Still On the Couch 2017 (Front) I was lucky enough to make some more new @bigdrillcar shirts with a little help from Bob we made a few updates to make this shirt current and a nod to Small Block and I think they turned out great. They will only be available at the two shows coming up this weekend and I made less than 100 so don’t dilly dally around the merch table thinking you will buy one at the end of the show cause when they are gone they are gone. If you live out of town and want one call a friend In the area. I gave them all to the band so don’t ask me either I just have this one. Big Drill Car's Batch, The Best of Pop Punk?

The Descendents may have invented Pop Punk, but Costa Mesa, CA's Big Drill Car appears to have perfected it! Now, it's fair to say that's at least due in part due to the band hiring the Descendents' Bill Steveson and Stephen Egerton to produce the band's sophomore full-length album, the bona fide Pop Punk masterpiece, Batch. (Full disclosure, Bill and Stephen produced Big Drill Car's first full-length, CD Type-Thing.)

Oiginally released in 1991, Batch was born a couple of months before Nirvana's Nevermind launched the Grunge revolution, and nearly a decade before Green Day, the Offspring, and Blink 182 ushered Pop Punk into the mainstream MTV + fm radio music biz spotlight.

The record is loaded with melodies, packed with hooks, and plenty of feel good, sing-along choruses. All in all, this outing chalks up to a focused collection of captivating Pop Punk tunes perfectly minted in the genre's classic mold.

Built on cornucopia of tight, crunchy riffs, powered by by the fleet fingers of guitarist Mark Arnold's and his tasty fretwork, perfectly cast alongside singer Frank Daly's soaring, crystal clear tenor vocals, and anchored by the bedrock-solid rythym section of bassist, Bob Thompson's ubet-melodic basslines, and drummer, Danny Marcroft's tastefully detailed licks.

If you're in the mood for a Pop Punk record rife with those feel good vibes, you should most definitely give Batch a whirl!
