Big Fish Eatery, chef/owner William Chung @wachoo88 and Amy Johnston’s Pan Asian fusion eatery in deepest industrial Penrose is one of Uncle’s favourites, also loved by his tennis mates in Dad’s Army. When the opportunity came to try the 2nd Big Fish Outlet in Stonefields, Uncle jumped at it and brought Aunty Yoke Har and Tony along as fresh seafood here is a speciality. Dinner started with the sashimi platter, a vegetable tempura and spicy fresh tuna rolls. Freshness is top notch in the seafood presentation and nothing can be faulted. The Char Kway Teow was Big Fish’s take on the famous Malaysian rice noodle dish. It was well wok-fried and components were in generous proportions. We accompanied this with a fresh papaya, crispy pork, prawn salad topped with a selection of mint and charred lime and a piquant Thai influenced dressing that made all the ingredients sing. Chef William knows what his diners like and executes all dishes well; he doesn’t ignore the origins and tradition of these dishes. We are in a happy place, especially after the lemon meringue Ma Cherie Tarts. #bigfishstonefields #stonefields #sashimi #tunaroll #vegetabletempura #prawnsalad #charkwayteow #papayasalad #macherietart #lemonandmeringue (at Big Fish Stonefields) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByJtpdUJ6gZ/?igshid=1wbgdiixafd3n
