Juice Odyssey: They say " Biggest Loser," I say "Biggest Juicer"
I finally joined my job’s Biggest Loser contest. I’m a week late but they got my starting weight 10 days ago. I skipped the first weigh-in, because we can skip 4 weigh-ins total.
Since I’m following Joe Cross’ Reboot program, I started my day with hot water, lemon and ginger. I’ve been meaning to incorporate this habit into my routine, and I’m glad to see it in Joe’s program. This is very soothing; a nice, mellow way to start the day. I can see doing this before work every morning.
You know, Joe Cross is not the first to get people talking about juicing, but I think he came along at the right time, while the mainstream is concerned about health and food, the alarming rise in diabetes, and other health, nutrition and food supply issues. What I like about Joe himself is his Everyman appeal. He didn’t strike me as someone who was out to make a buck from the jump. Yes, he’s making a living at it now (I think- and good for him if so!) but the basic info he provides is accessible without big bucks, unless you want one-on-one coaching or something. I’m simply using his two iOS apps.
I like that he brings together common sense and wisdom, and that his program incorporates the good eating habits I’ve been learning over the years since my early raw food days. I’m not one for following a program, but I want to win this Biggest Loser contest, and I figure an organized approach is the best way for me to stay on track through April.
