I was super bummed when Pygmy Lush couldn't be a part of our third Nirvana tribute LP, as they are old friends who have been there since the very beginning (Robo 001) and were great contributors to the first two tribute LPs. Thankfully another band Chris Taylor is in, Washington DC quartet Big Hush, came to the rescue with an expansive rendition of Nirvana's sludgey classic, 'Sifting'. Today NPR Music premieres the song, which is a noticeably more subtle affair compared to Big Hush's fantastic fuzzed out shoegaze 'dream pop'. We're thrilled to present this to you for your enjoyment: http://www.npr.org/sections/allsongs/2016/04/14/473967006/big-hush-turns-nirvanas-sifting-into-a-droney-dream This track is a part of "Doused in Mud, Soaked in Bleach", which is officially released this Saturday, Record Store Day 2016. It's been a massive project to assemble and we want to extend our genuine appreciation to all the bands, managers, publicists and other media peoples who've helped to make this a reality. In addition, a massive shout out to our distributor Revolver for bringing the hustle getting the vinyl out to roughly 200 stores across the continental USA. Please go out on Saturday and support these hard working shops, and if they don't have a copy then keep an eye on our Online Store later in the day, as we'll have some copies available here: http://www.roboticempire.com #bighush #bigups #jahbless
