The Metal Missionary
Paperwork was just one thing of Ryan's daily work. Compared to the other things he had to do it was a piece of cake. Controlling his city was a much more challenging job. Ryan sat at his desk. As usually he was deep lost in his work. He hated interruption and unheraled appointments. Even worse were the appointments of complaining citizens, always doubting about Ryan's foundation and concept while Ryan pretened as if he would listen to them. Unfortunately they betrayed themselves and usually get arrested or shot. It depends. 'They fear and envy you', he said to himself as he finished the last letter for today, letting out a quiet sigh as he slid his black typewriter aside. As the magnate looked around his office he realized how less had changed here since the civil war broke out. Everything was well-assorted just like in old times ... but some said Ryan wasn't the old one anymore, he'd turned into a monster and a doubter himself. They just didn't understand ... how could they? They were too spliced up to understand the concept of Rapture in the slightest. A few moments later Andrew stood up and decided to go for a walk, maybe going to his private apartment as well. He hadn't been there in quite a while. He'd spent the other nights in his office. Yes, uncomfortable but in those times he just had to hid away from all those spliced up citizens. As he walked down the paths of Rapture he suddenly heard some kind of screak? Was it one of those so called Splicers or one of those little-girls? Ryan looked over his shoulder. Nothing. For his own safety he still slid his hands into his suit-pockets, wrapping his fingers around his revolver. If it'd come to a fight, he will be prepared.
