“yeah, production-wise i couldn’t get it right. really liked the song, and i really wanted to - i actually half-wrote it for Olly Murs, weirdly enough. i said to him ‘do you want? -’ and i kind of missed the deadline for his album. and yeah, i really enjoyed the song, but i could never get the production right for it when i wanted to put it on the album. i recorded it with two different producers and i just couldn’t get it right, and i wasn’t comfortable putting something on the album that wasn’t gonna stand out.
and i just played it in rehearsals one day, and the band just started joining in with me, and we made basically a new version of the song that i didn’t think it was possible. and i love playing it, you know, i wrote the song on piano so i’ll sit down and play it on that, i’m no the greatest pianist of all time, there’s no mozart in here - or chris martin - but i’ll get up and give it me best, and suppose it’ll have to do. but yeah, it’s a song i really love playing, and it’s good live, and i’m a little upset that it didn’t make the album, really.”
