[Bijoux] Needs more humans.
What happens when a heavily armed gang backs a pair of biotics into a corner?
Carnage.
I was not used to being forced behind barricades, into hiding, nor was I used to not being the most heavily-armed individual in the vicinity. Perhaps we under-estimated the enemy. I know that I assumed petty criminals would not be capable of the feats of combat that we had witnessed, and I had been wrong.
They managed to bloody me and that is no small feat.
I looked to Captain Matojo and he looked to me, then drew his helmet back over his head. His biotics flared to life again, and he stood, exposing himself to enemy fire to send a very special shotgun blast into the gang that had us cornered.
Just another day on Omega.
With the distraction he created, I slipped into hiding among the refuse of the abandoned warehouse while our prey moved in with the hope of finishing us off. They did not realize I had moved. With multiple backs to me, I lashed out, cracking biotic lashes across those unfortunates that were close enough for me to reach. The chaos created by my sneak attack gave Matojo the time he needed to flank and dispatch, and in a pincer formation we worked, until it was just us in the center of the carnage.
Then, we rushed the rest.
Looking back, I do not think the enemy expected us to recover from being forced against a wall. I know they expected that we would be easier to destroy then, but we were not. We work far too well with each other for that.
Hours later, with the old Krogan asleep in his bunk in this run-down hide-out in an industrial complex, I find myself wishing that he were human instead. I can respect the Captain for his skill, but I cannot excuse his being an alien.
I miss my own kind.
