𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 to do was leave her brother. attached by the hip since they were young children — there had to be a way for them to stay together. there wasn’t. on her sixteenth birthday, her waterbending powers only grew stronger. becoming CHAOTIC in times of high emotion, feelings developing into anger far too quickly. destroying property with her inability to control her skills. the salvatore school is far from home, somewhere she’s never been. it’s overwhelming, exhausting, and isolated. she doesn’t fit in with anyone here — she’s an anomaly. there are only few of her kind, and none go to the supernatural school in the middle of rural virginia. but she needed to learn to be able to control her powers in a safe environment, somewhere controlled. she had NO CHOICE.
down by the lake that sits comfortably just outside of campus, she focuses on bringing the water up by a slow motion of her hands, letting it hover in front of her face for a moment before allowing it to SPLASH back down. she’s far more powerful in times of anger, fear, or sorrow. but neutral, she feels powerless. she lets out a sigh of frustration as she begins again, letting the liquid twist into a spiral with a spin of her pointer finger. it all falls to the ground as she hears a voice behind her, startled for only a moment. she turns around, meeting the eyes of a girl that she knows little about. just that she’s sort of a ... big deal around here. ❝ sorry. i didn’t hear you approach, ❞ she comments politely, forcing an amicable smile despite the social anxiety attempting to make a barrier.
