ooh, can i please request kpop demon hunters ot3? maybe mira/rumi/zoey sit bobby down to tell him about the supernatural but he assumes they're telling him they're in a relationship? or vice versa, whatever you like! <3
Ooooh my love, I adore this prompt! First time writing KPDH so please forgive me if the voices are a bit stiff.
Rumi could feel Zoey's knee bouncing gently where it was pressed against her own on one side, and was acutely aware of Mira's white-knuckled grip threatening to destroy the metal arm of the couch on the other. Still, she knew her friends were with her in this: whatever happened in the past, she was sure, now, that she could trust them to have her back.
"Bobby," she said seriously, sitting across from their manager on the sofa in his office, "there's something we need to tell you."
Bobby looked up from where he'd been hurriedly replying to messages, finger paused in mid-air over the screen, frozen in place. Then, carefully and quietly, he powered off his phone.
"I've been waiting for this day," he said, hushed, and then pushed back from his desk to hang a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on his office door, locking it behind him with a click. Then he sat on top of the desk, short legs dangling a bit, and spread his hands out wide as if in welcome. "I'm so glad you trust me enough to share this--and, you know, I wish you didn't feel like you had to, because it's really not any of my business, but--" "Well, it--we thought it would--" Rumi stumbled, put on the back foot by Bobby's reaction. She looked to Mira for help, who shrugged eloquently in response.
"It will probably be easier for you to do your job if you know everything about ours," she said, and Zoey rushed in to follow up.
"It's not like we wanted to hide it from you at all! We just knew it could be really dangerous for you if you knew."
"Girls, I'm honored that you cared enough about how I felt to keep it a secret, but I really don't think there's any danger. Yes, if it got out it could jeopardize your Idol rankings--maybe, if we don't handle the fallout perfectly--but don't you worry at all. I have been waiting for this day for--well I won't tell you how long, but I have everything all worked out."
The girls all shared a look as Bobby pulled a thick file folder from a desk drawer and dropped it heavily on the table in front of them. Rumi thumbed open the cover, staring down at--
"Plans for a... coming out party?" All three said in unison, before blinking owlishly at him.
"That's right. Obviously we'll do whatever you're most comfortable with, but it's 2025! Audiences are more accepting than ever before, and with the right marketing and the right song, I think we can use your relationship to pull off the most Idol Awards anyone's ever seen. It could be a total sweep!"
Rumi couldn't help the shocked laughter that spilled out of her mouth, but she didn't have to worry about upsetting her girls. Zoey nearly rolled off of the couch, dissolving into tears, while Mira guffawed so loudly that the idle chatter beyond Bobby's door went completely silent.
"Um, girls?" Bobby asked, but Rumi shook her head.
"Thank you Bobby, we--we're really, um, grateful that you--that you made this beautiful plan and everything but..." She smiled at Mira, then Zoey, then back at their manager. "We'd like to keep our relationship to ourselves for just a little bit longer, if you don't mind." She put to rest any further thoughts of sharing the reality of their powers with Bobby. If he hadn't figured it out based on the fact that they could literally fly, he probably wouldn't ever realize enough to put him in harm's way. But when he reached for the folder, Rumi put a hand over his--and it--to stop him.
"Can I keep this?" She asked, giving him that winning, superstar smile. "I'd love to see what you were thinking, about the party."
"Anything you want, girls," Bobby promised. "Just like always."
