5. Favorite Renaissance artistFra Angelico!!!! His depiction of the Annunciation is my favorite (and I have several).
8. Favorite neo-classical artist.I…actually dislike neoclassical art…but you can’t go wrong with Jacques-Louis David.
9. Favorite Romantic artist. JMW Turner! 😍 I’ll need to make a trip to England just to see all of his works. I really like the Age of Sail, too, so seeing all of his paintings of ships…ahh!!! And his treatment of light, I mean, don’t get me started. I love him for so many different reasons…he was a big part of what got me so interested in the romantic movement. I have a nice little book about him I got at a discount store!! It has full color illustrations and everything ☺️
11. Favorite Impressionist artist.Agh, this one is almost impossible. I’m going to have to go with Gustave Caillebotte though; his cityscapes of mid-19th century Paris are what drew me to Impressionism. I saw his painting Le Pont de l'Europe at the Kimbell Art Museum several years ago and fell in love…I guess because the rise of cities at that time is so intriguing? More modernism and urbanism, two of my big interests.
12. Favorite post Impressionist artist.AHH even more difficult. I’m terribly fond of Les Nabis though, maybe Édouard Vuillard (forgive me Vincent)? The interior paintings from that group are just…so intimate? The handling of light on flesh is just…ah. I enjoy it a lot.
Thank you!! I think this is the last one :)
