“Ciphernican World View” In the early modern era, the Copernican world and Universe were considered unsafe. The thought that the earth was at the center of the universe, which was the Ptolemaic world view, was reassuring. But when Copernicus came with his revelation of the sun being at the center of the universe, everybody freaked out. Literally everybody. And the Copernican world view was considered the most freaking, frightening, unsafe, chaotic thought and universe view in which human beings would ever live. It even triggered a “melancholic epidemic” amongst literary people. (called that way by researcher Angus Gowland) Think again, Humans.
