Tso Tsi has taken this white club chair in my living room as his new favorite place to curl up on for a snooze. So appropriate, too, because the pillow behind him is covered in a mud cloth fabric that I bought in Johannesburg. His name is South African and it means gangster or thug. Why did my late partner name him that? Well, when he was rescued by a friend (the cat, not my partner) the little kitten was wandering around in the desert near Palm Springs and we suspect that his parents were feral , because the little guy was a bit wild. It happened again this week....my huge Night-Blooming Cereus in my conservatory burst forth a dinnerplate-size blossom. Usually, there have been between 20 to 30 flowers. But this time there was only one...but a very special one it was...because it STAYED OPEN AFTER SUNRISE. That has never happened before to this plant. I have had to photograph it at night until now. Daylight shows it off in all its regal impressive splendor.
