He was killed during a robbery and sort of just stuck around, haunting the place, waiting for something or someone to let him leave the mortal plane. He has the uncanny ability to control the museum he died in, being very familiar with the place. sort of like Lewis from MSA, but for a different reason.

“Nobody’s leaving.” RHM felt his heart sink. He had gone through this ghost’s bullshit, trying to talk to him through all the rooms while keeping Reginald calm during the whole ordeal. The ghost had TRAPPED them in this stupid museum, and now he had the nerve to say that nobody was going to leave?? “You can’t just keep us here!” He said, his blood almost boiling. “I sure as hell can. You were the ones to follow him in here, and if I let him out, he might never come back!” The ghost hissed, also pretty frustrated. “Wait- you’re talking about Icepick, right?” “Who else?” Then it clicked. This ghost wasn’t looking for revenge, he was.. he had a crush. It was almost mocking, knowing that this ghost would never be able to fulfill that crush. The ghost had led Icepick to this place, meaning to trap him only. But he and Reginald.. they followed. “You’re in love.” The ghost let out an echoing chuckle. “It took you this long to figure out? I thought it was obvious.” “Wait- you’re not hiding it at all?” “What’s the point in hiding a crush if you’re dead? He can’t see me, he can’t hear me, he’ll never know unless you tell him. And since I don’t know how he’ll react, he might leave and never come back, so it’s safest to just trap him here.” “Why can’t you let me and Reg out too?” “He’s been following you two most of the time, if he sees an opening, he’ll take it.” RHM was silent for a few seconds, then spoke up. “You know you can’t keep us here, I’m sorry about whatever happened to you but, you can’t just trap all of us here because of one crush.” “Why not?” RHM let out a sigh. It would be a while before he was able to leave... ——————————————————————- I made a little ficlet for you! I had an idea for this au and thought it would be really cool if there was a ghost that had a crush on a living person. Quick note that the ghost is Billy Clud, and he’s able to manipulate the building in this way because of familiarity. He worked there for years, so he’s able to manipulate or ‘possess’ the building with ease. Anyway, he’s got a crush and trapped him here, accidentally trapping Right and Reg as well. I wonder how it will play out! This AU does not belong to me! It belongs to The-shark-well!

I also think it would be nice to note that Icepick doesn’t believe in ghosts AND Billy is hiding all his ghost possession shenanigans so Icepick just thinks the building is so old that the door jammed
