Chicago doğumlu Billy Dalessandro oldukça çalışkan bir prodüktör ve meşgul bir DJ. 2000‘lerin başında türlü toplamalar dahilinde tekno sahnesine giriş yaptı. İlk EP’leri 2002 Force Inc. ve Resopal etiketleriyle yayınlandı. Yine 2003’te, ilk albümü Midievalization’ı tamamladığında kayda değer bir repütasyona sahipti. Bunu çok sayıda plak, bolca remix ve üç albüm takip etti. Bu arada Slutbox ve The Shocker gibi projelerde Daniel Mnookin ile minimal ve tech-house janrlarında arayışını sürdürüyordu. Birleşik Devletler’de Site Holder, Portekiz’de de Soniculture üzerinden plaklarını hızla yaydı. Soniculture’ın dağıtımını Kompakt’ın yapmaya başlaması, sanatçının namının yayılmasını iyi yönde etkiledi. Öte yanda John Digweed ve Matthew Dear gibi isimler Billy Dalessandro parçalarını Fabric setlerinde kullanmaya başlamıştı bile. Gui Boratto’nun yaptığı Acidburn remix’i aslında 2009’a yakışmıyordu ama, burda anmamak doğru olmaz.

Günümüze geri döndüğümüzde, Dalessandro beşinci uzunçaları ile yine karşımızda. Müziğinge hep varolan tekno ve acid yoğunluğunu düşündüğümüzde Cracktime biraz daha evrilmiş, biraz daha törpülenmiş bir albüm. La Deux, groovy sample’larla hareketli hale getirilmiş ortalama bir tech-house parçası. Plak dönüp te iğne dışa doğru yaklaştıkça parçalar sertleşiyor, daha bir tekno, daha bir acid, daha bir arızalı synth’ler hakim oluyor. Kötü demeye dilim varmıyor ama, müziğin izlediği yolu ve geldiği yeri biraz ıskalamış sanki.
