I’ve seen a few of my favorite Bimini based shark influencers (@biminisharkgirl @underwatercameraman @biminiscubacenter ) doing fantastic work for BBC’s Blue Planet Live this week. Check out their profiles if that is your cup of cold refreshing Colt 45 malt liquor. . If you dig sharks Bimini (in the Bahamas and about 50 miles from Miami) is filled to the gills with bull, nurse, reef, great hammerheads (seasonally), the occasional tiger, and other sharks. It’s a great place to scratch that sharky-itch that you’ve developed, but are embarrassed to tell anyone about. . You can literally go to the docks @bimini_big_game and see bulls at any time of the day. For the brave and super-cool there is a cage to hop into to see these sexy beasts up close. Here is a little cage-diving POV action for those of you that are curious as to what cage-diving is like. . There can be a ton of sharks coming from all directions. . The sharks are generally only focused on the fishy bait in the water and not the meat-apes in the cage. . Be aware of your grip on the bars in case there is any exploration by the sharks. . The cage moves with the waves. Get a good grip on something. . If you are filming the sharks tend to circle the cage so it is only a matter of time before the bars are in the frame. . The water is colder than you think. . It is an amazing experience! The famed Bimini Running Of The Bulls! . I’ve seen bull sharks from the surface before, but this was the first time that I was actually in the water with them (in a cage because I’m made of meat). . A huge thank you to shark overlord Neal Watson - @mynizzles - and @biminiscubacenter for taking care of me with an impromptu hammerhead dive knowing that my planned dive for tomorrow would be cancelled due to weather. .
