We no longer had to put out bins out on the street to be collected, because the bin men had invented a large grappling hook that they could use to drag them towards the collector instead. I noticed that the hook was being thrown by one of my old friends from school so I went out to say hello to him. By the time I'd opened the door he'd already gone, but I ended up attracting a bunch more people I knew from school who kept coming to the door and pestering me.
