The Opening of Binge Kitchen
A new restaurant in town is targeting the vegans among us. Binge Kitchen offers a variety of plant-based meals to add to your diet. Bobcat Update's Alex Sereno has the story.
Before it became a brick and mortar restaurant this past September, Binge Kitchen operated as one of the many food trucks in town. The owners were motivated to establish a more permanent location because of a new addition to their family.
“We got pregnant and I was in school at Texas State University,” said Binge Kitchen Owner Yarnisha Lyons. Lyons and her husband, Balazs Lovasz decided to do something different and get out of their food trailer.
Binge Kitchen serves a variety of plant-based meals inspired by the owners.
“It’s not just the veggie burger that you can get from almost any restaurant,” Lyons said. My husband is Hungarian and he added some Hungarian flavor to our menu.”
Binge Kitchen is located at 121 North Fredericksburg Street in San Marcos.
Lyons said choosing the vegan lifestyle promotes health and sustainability. “It’s all around good for everyone, the environment, people, their personal health and the animals,” said Lyons.
