Wihkaskic is a xenogender and CUIN (culturally exclusive in nature) gender related to sage, sweetgrass, other Indigenous medicines, Indigenous food and meals, and being Native American / First Nations.

This gender is exclusive to Native people and was coined by a Native system.

The name wihkaskic comes from the Cree word wihkask, which means a braid of sweetgrass. 

Flag Colour Meanings:

#66a232, the green, represents various herbal medicines as well as plants used in Indigenous recipes. The specific green is the same one used on the Peepeekisis Cree flag, as a homage to the term’s requester.
