Due to the fact that I ‘rebranded’ myself (@ladykaguya to @suedraws), most–if not all my old art, has been removed from the internet. I realized I better start reposting some of it!

Here’s two test pages I did last year. It’s been fun doing these ‘aimless’ pages. It’s helping me learn Not only is it important to do quality, but often we forget about things–what about the format? How long does each page take? Stuff like that.

Okay, though some updates: (sorry it’s kinda long...lot to say!)

- I’ve decided for the better that this tumblr is not just about my human bionicle project, but for the community as a whole. I really want to give better support to other creators out there and keep Bionicle alive! I’ll be reblogging others’ artwork, MoCs, stories, and all sorts of creative exploits related to Bionicle. A bit of general Lego may appear too. I’ll be doing my best to tag everything accordingly, but let me know if you’d like to see a particular tag, any form of warnings, etc! Feel free to send me your creations if you’d like to get a reblog/etc. (or would y’all prefer if I set up the submit option?)

- Please note that I changed the name of the blog to @bioniclecatalyst vs the old ‘catalystwebcomic’. Sadly that means older posts will make it appear like the blog was deactivated--it’s here! Just a new name!

- I’ve redone the blog theme! Can you guys say if it looks okay or anything that needs to be fixed? Thanks! www.bioniclecatalyst.tumblr.com (you’ll get that sidebar site preview, but click the site title again on the top left to see the actual site)

- Disqus has been installed to the site for those who want a better way to comment or don’t have a tumblr!

- Tomorrow I plan to get involved with NaNoWriMo and will be writing out a novel based on the Bionicle Catalyst project. I was really stubborn for awhile about wanting it to be a comic, but honestly that’s not feasible right now and it’s more work than I can afford and do. I still want to break into the webcomics in a few years, but I’d rather spend my energy on an original project. However, I still may do those practice pages I’ve done over the years or even do a mini comic.

- Exact details of the fanfiction are vague and I don’t want to hype it up too much if something falls through. But I’m going to try. That being said I do want it to be a lightly illustrated novel, it’ll still be focused on giving Bionicle a proper ‘ending’ from my perspective, and will be humanized as before. I’d love to start releasing it sometime next year around spring. I haven’t decided where to post it but if any folks have suggestions, let me know!

- Finally I want to deeply thank friends and followers for taking time to follow this project over the years. Life has been really really tough and I feel bad about this not working out over time. I’ll continue to push forward and hope people will enjoy it when it finally comes into proper fruition! Again, thank you everyone for your support, comments, reblogs, likes, and everything else.

1/6/18 Updates

Hey guys, I’m alive! Happy belated new years too!

Some things:

I haven’t cancelled this project. Between a six hour move, medical withdrawal from college, stage four cancer in the family, holiday stress, and other things I won’t get into...it really ate away at my time and willpower. But this project has not been forgotten. I’d love to keep it up if people are still interested!

After some thinking, talented artist @kcimaginary will be joining the team as the comic’s official colorist/painter. This will take a lot of stress off of me and you’ll get to see some beautiful painting from Kristen! It’s a win-win. Page 3-onwards should reflect this.

There’s no date yet for when the comic will be back in swing. I would like to aim for a page a week and then build on from there.

Remember, this is the official URL for catalyst: http://www.catalystwebcomic.com/ (don’t add a ‘s’ in the http or it won’t work...not sure why??? not savvy enough to get that, but might explain why some people and myself thought the site was down at times)

When the comic gets going a bit more, would anyone be interested in a Discord server devoted to the comic/bionicle/art? Leave feedback and let me know!

the release date for CATALYST is...

August 2nd!!! Okay guys! Just updating to say I finally have a stable release date for this here Bionicle webcomic. The entire prologue (roughly 15 pages) will be released August 2nd. It coincides with Brickfair Virginia! Chapter 1 will then be updated everyday during Brickfair (until the 6th). From there, the updates will slow down to twice or three times a week, with the occasional break to keep a healthy buffer up. I'm so excited to show this project to all of y'all! Thank you so much for the patience, encouragement, help--everything!

Greetings! While health has led to slower work than anticipated, I can at least work today on more technical aspects.

Before going too far with any particular host for the comic (adding an about/credit/etc page), I wanted to know where would be the most convenient and best place to host the comic.

I’m not a fan of posting comics in too many places at once. It’s extra work, stretches discussions/comments thin, and other frustrating aspects happen. I’d like to keep the comic itself down to two locations--preferably one. Any extra places would be merely to show off bonus artwork or to notify readers of updates.

Certain places are not viable (e.g. deviantART--I am no longer active there), but I still welcome other alternatives if in case I have forgotten one.
