In relation to this post asking how BoTW/ToTK could’ve been written better:

How cool would it have been if BoTW had audio diaries and interact-able memories?

I kind of imagined something where every time you collect a memory, not only would you find a column of light in the spot where each picture was taken on the Sheikah Slate, but you’d follow a trail of light and when you get to the end of the trail, it triggered a flashback in which you would actually play as Link in the memory rather than just having mini movies that you watch.

Like in the memory A Premonition, the one where Link left a battle with bokoblins and moblins and lynels with only a scratch. Imagine if you played as Link in that memory and fought all of those monsters!

I am playing a game, not watching a movie. Let me interact with my game, dammit!

Now, maybe I’m saying this as a BioShock enjoyer (a brilliant game btw, you should play it if you haven’t), but I think in a game that heavily based around technology, audio diaries would’ve also made sense.

Like imagine, just imagine what the Silent Princess memory could’ve been if it was played like an audio diary instead of a memory mini movie. Imagine finding a drive containing the audio log in Zelda’s study next to a Silent Princess flower, and you hear Zelda talking about where she is, what she’s looking at, finding a Silent Princess, hearing Zelda’s voice trail off as she speaks, then getting excited at the sight of a hot-footed frog, the audible friction of her clothes ruffling as she makes an effort to catch it and shoves the frog at Link and telling him to taste it, Link’s audible ‘eurgh!’

If you couldn’t tell already, the inspiration from BioShock has taken over my brain, as well as my love for stories being told through just audio logs. It leaves a lot to the imagination and I feel like Nintendo missed that opportunity. I feel like the game would have been a way better game if it let me go out and explore the world and piece the story together myself, rather than telling the entire story of what happened 100 years ago delivered by King Rhoam in a single cutscene after I just finished the tutorial.

I really need to redo these, they're very old lol

Me and a couple old friends made a bunch of planet-themed Sun/Moon variants forever ago, these were the two I made! (Excluding all the moons and Venus, she never got a proper ref and the moons are all uncolored) Makemake takes inspiration from the same deity the dwarf planet is named after, while Uranus was inspired by old playwrights and Bioshock, surprisingly. You can really see it in some of the moons' outfits lol.

Dr. Whilelm, sarcastic arse with an abrasive personality and master of almost all things that you can get a doctorate for (and some change) with an abrasive personality. Being an experienced surgeon, Wilhelm does autopsies on the poor schmucks that Paul kidna-,I MEAN, “”picks up”” on his travels through the multiverse , studying and replacing various bits and bobs to “see how they tick”.

by that i mean examining the internal organs and bone structure and replacing some of the limbs with mechanical prosthetics made by Paul.

But don’t worry, he tries to be as friendly and non-threatening as possible during surgery (despite being a bit of an [REDACTED] outside of his office), in fact the stories that he tells during surgery will leave you in 

Stitches.

“But Paul!” I hear you ask with a gob of snot dripping out of your nose, “how does Wilhelm talk to his patients during surgery??” you snort. 

Simple my good [redacted], he uses his own creation: the N.U.R.S.E or, Neural Uber Re-generation System and Extractor. 

It has a tool on it that can keep the patient’s brain functions working thus keeping them alive, not only that, but it can also regrow muscle and bone tissue, and, with the help of a lil 1000-volt electric shock, bring back the dead! But surgery isn’t he only thing he’s good at!

He’s also, among many other things, is also a top of his class veterinarian, therapist, and geneticist! He is the creator of the revolutionary and mysterious gene modifying phasemids that will change the modern world as we know it! They probably would sooner if they didn’t, you know, cause the user’s head to explode like a melon.
