You probably have answered this before, but what do they do after the events of DA2?
The important thing to note is that in my canon (WORKING ON THE PAGE RIGHT NOW SO EXCITE :3c) the events of DA2 go down very differently. The main difference? Anders never goes to Kirkwall. Instead, the Chantry explosion is the result of the combined efforts of prominant members the Mage Underground and the followers they rescued from the Gallows.
While this is happening, Theron and Anders have found themselves in Orlais as the result of travel to the Dales and a request from the King and Prince-Consort of Ferelden. There are a couple of nobles who have found it a delightful move in the game to invite a Ferelden grey warden (AN ELF NO LESS--SO SCANDALOUS) and an apostate to large functions as honored guests and, to be quite honest, curiosities to be gossiped about.

Soon after the explosion of the Chantry and the eruption of the mage/templar war, Theron and Anders make an effort to return to Ferelden. They are in the Arbor Wilds when it happens, and in Theron’s confusion at the false Calling, they make an effort to return to Orlais to meet the Orlesian grey wardens.
