Mr Nothing seems to be fine with people dying, he can even kill. He just doesn’t want to be seen killing because he believes he’s already embarassed his master and the art form of her martial arts enough by accidentally killing before. Like his master was very much a pacifist, indicated by the fact that she didn’t even teach him the killing moves, which makes all the running and acting on his end interesting. If he goes on to fight back he would 1) be further disrespecting his master’s ways and 2) be proving the conspirators that set up the competition right in that he’s capable of killing so it was right to punish his master.
Which is probably why he opts to run away from his pursuers in his oprec even though he could definitely kill them. My hc is that he wants to prove that he doesn’t need to kill, that his master’s teachings are right and he can end this ‘war’ without fighting.
