Why a beauty blog?

I know, there are plenty of beauty blogs out there but I figured I would give it a whirl.

I was inspired to do this blog through a Birchbox event I attended yesterday. #BirchboxLocal was, first of all, an amazing idea and I have to tip my hat to them. It was like I had died and gone to beauty heaven. Anyway, while my friend was getting her hair done, I looked over to the makeup artist’s mirror and saw she had the theBalm Cosmetics’s “Meet Matt(e) Nude” palette. I am immediately ran over and asked to see it since I have never seen it in person and have heard so much buzz about it. While I was discussing different products with this particular artist, the other who was working on a client asked “Are you a makeup artist?”. “I, unfortunately, am not” is how I put it to her. She said “So, you’re just a makeup junkie?” and went on to compliment my makeup and how well I had applied it.

Those two words have stuck with me throughout the night and morning and so, I decided to start up my own blog. Here is where I can share my favorites, not-so-favorites, tips, and tricks. I am also a big fan of Youtube and its abundance of beauty gurus, who I will most definitely be sharing on here with you as well.
