a bunch of silly little hummingbird cups! i got a silly idea to do like tiny espresso style cups and thought OH YES TINY BIRDS! because i am me, they are all different species of hummingbird tho frankly the colors didn't come out as vibrant as i wanted (cone 10 reduction is hard for bright colors). might try experimenting with some of mayco's gloss glazes to see if i can get brighter looks (tho then you lose the shading you get from underglaze). i used mayco coral gloss for the liner glaze (it's super bright and glossy)
figuring out how to draw their beaks as a front view was a bit of a challenge but i think this way reads pretty well (i am probably going to experiment with some other beak styles, the problem is their beaks are bendy/curved usually so putting them straight down doesn't get this across as well) from left to right: allen's hummingbird, anna's hummingbird, rufous' hummingbird and a lucifer sheartail these were part of the bwc sale collection but they are home now and i will list them on etsy soon patreon | store | ig | bsky
