Hi. Can I hear about your w359 oc perhaps?

yes you CAAAAAAN ^_^ so a lot of it is still wip and under wraps. context a friend once said to me (running a magnus archives ttrpg) that it'd be really easy to port the story of wolf 359 into a ttrpg setting and i was like. Oh i have. all this to say that the oc isn't EXACTLY w359 but it's really unfair to say that it's not VERY very very inspired by w359 and the story it exists within is very similar.

anyway with that disclaimer out of the way. i'm still kind of thinking of a name for it but it's the AI system/ship (...also unnamed) of the setting. it's really really friendly (what it sees as friendly as least) and curious about humans and humankind which can be a bit awkward at times. Can you hear me can you see me i;m so excited to see and hear and meet you video esque. it really, REALLY wants to know "what makes a human" (not "what makes you a human" not "what makes you a person". what Makes a Human) which is part of where the... eccentric bits come in i feel. again this is all still kind of Hmmmmm Debated but i think it does get very. gestures. "i'm sooooo excited to be here and be your friend. by the way how does it feel to have blood? can you feel it going through your veins? why did your heartbeat go up when i said that? well of course i can see your vitals why is that a surprise! are you scared? don't be scared. if you go to engineering you can see that we're kind of the same :) i can't feel it so i was wondering if you could! anywayyyyy"

i also (since it'd ideally be in a ttrpg-esque setting) briefly considered the idea of a (closes my eyes (i cannot say Mental Blank Space)) in-between space that took place as a "keep your minds stimulated while you're in cryosleep getting sent out to Wherever You're Researching in space" + out-of-world functions as a Session 0 Get To Know Each Other. which is where i also thought "would it have a physical humanlike form in any capacity?" to which i am still not sure. i think if it had to imagine itself as a Humanlike Being, the closest it'd come to that was "a mess of wires that kind of resembles the human nervous system (it does not realize how disconcerting it is to be a human and hear 'look i look like you! like your insides!' and see... that)". which is to say Would it have a physical humanlike form to interact with its crew in that session 0 space? Maybe.

(break but this is part of prev. paragraph) i think it'd want one. but i think it wouldn't be ABLE to have one is another thing. for programming or "intentional distance/you are not like these people (because you are not a person)" reasons. i also briefly considered the idea of a hologram-esque form that's more reliant on shadow if that makes sense...? like less "my form is made of light" and more "i'm creating the illusion of a humanlike form by using the absence of light/reflections of light/holding up things that make me resemble a person". in the corner of your eye it's there, head tilted, arms by its sides, talking to you about the daily schedule. you turn to look and there's nothing but a flickering light and an out-of-place piece of equipment.

anyway^2 i've been thinking about it a lot but i'm still not fully sure. i feel like it's too bizarrely eccentric/bordering on "this thing feels fucking evil and weird" for what's meant to be a Genuine Guide/Friend character. even if it WAS made for a magnus archives/wolf 359 esque combo setting. it's not evil it's just really really excited to see what makes a human. see what dreams make the team work! ^_^ yay! yay!. as to why it's in space i'm still not sure. i have my own thoughts on how the campaign would play out but i'm not sure how relevant they are to this character other than "this is why it's kind of Vague and doesn't have much Story. its story Develops With You"

Hey Josef, remember when I cosplayed a bunch of your oc's in 2018, well I've certainly improved.

This is a cosplay of @birdiiielle 's oc Helen, an immortal lesbian who fought in the french revolution.

That's her actual design (drawn by Jo ofc) and my original cosplay of her in May 2018.

The Birdi line (Birdi, Humbae, Seelody) are hummingbirds that are also seelie fae! They like to charm people and Pokemon alike with their songs, and their signature ability, Fae Song, transforms all vocal moves into Fairy-type! Like a Fairy-type version of Liquid Voice.
