My first pet was a red factor canary too. He was very pretty but he died suddenly when I was five which was upsetting.
I’m sorry to hear about that. It’s terrible to lose a bird, especially suddenly. I still remember the day Seedy died, it was pretty sudden too, though he was an older bird, so I’m pretty sure it was just old age. I hope this picture helps you remember some good times with your first pet, at least.

I was looking at your food balls recipes and I was wondering if you cook them or not since you didn't put any info down about cooking I assume you don't? Thanks for running such an awesome blog!
Most of the ingredients are raw since they’re more nutritious that way, the only ones that get cooked are ones that are either healthier cooked or can’t be eaten unless cooked; the quinoa, sweet potato, yam, carrot and beans are typically the only ones that get cooked (potatoes and yams can’t be eaten raw by parrots, carrots release more antioxidants when cooked, and many beans are toxic unless cooked)
