Day 2 of @bisexualreginamillsweek - Regina comes out.
The only non-painful/angsty/gorey fic i will be providing yous with. Enjoy it while it lasts.
She can’t breathe and she swears she can feel the world slowing to a halt.
“Fuck.” She’s gasping, sucking in huge lungfuls of air as her sweat cools and sends yet more goosebumps along her skin. “I... fuck.”
“You already said that.”
Regina nods, even though there’s no way she can see it from the bathroom. “I think I might be a little bit gay,” she muses, half dazed and with her pulse thundering in her ears.
Ruby laughs—wild and bright and it makes Regina’s stomach flip—as she steps into the ensuite door way and leans against the frame, naked, sweaty, and everything Regina has ever wanted. “Oh, honey,” she says, still chuckling as she crawls onto the bed and up her prone, fuck-drunk body to hover over her. “After what we just did? You are more than just a little bit gay.”
She shrieks when Regina brings her knees up, squeezes her sides and flips them, straddling her hips and pinning her wrists to the mattress beneath them. “I’m trying to be serious.” She brushes a kiss along Ruby’s salt-dusted collar bone. “That’s the first time I’ve said that outloud.”
Her hands reach up to tangle in Regina’s hair and tug her down into a kiss that Regina swears she can feel in her toes. “I’m honoured.”
AN: Sometimes self-realization leads to pain. My first entry for @bisexualreginamillsweek Day 1. Regina realizes she’s bisexual. FFNet
Her neck was intriguing: the slender line of it, the way her veins twitched with the quickening of her pulse, the smell of her skin and how soft it was under her fingertips as she squeezed harder. Would she taste as good as she smelled? The girl’s gasping breaths fell softy on her ear, her first startled intake like music. The sweet song of a siren. The allure of the forbidden. Mother would have been so ashamed. A lady does not behave this way, and certainly not a queen.
She can’t even remember her name anymore, just another peasant that crossed her path. A lowly street rat. But she remembers her eyes, the way they danced with mirth. While the rest of the village cowered at the arrival of the queen, she was unfazed. She stood tall, her smirking eyes locked on Regina, a glass of cider outstretched in her delicate hands, and a challenge in the tilt of her head. Never had a subject been so bold.
It had been months since the last sighting of Snow, months of searching with no reward, months of returning to the cold walls of her castle empty-handed. Her patience was at an all-time low. She was exhausted. She needed a distraction, so if the peasant wanted to play games, well, the queen knew she could give as good as she got.
The cider was sweet, but her tongue was sweeter - spiced with cinnamon and bourbon, laced with the poison of promise. It’s been over thirty years, but she remembers the warmth of her mouth and the way her breath felt on her face. She can still remember the soft murmuring sounds of the villagers in the distance, the panic that would linger in the air until she would return to her castle, replacing panic with grief. She shouldn’t have been there. She wasn’t supposed to stay. But warm cider and soft curves were too enticing to resist.
She doesn’t recall how it happened, when they went from drinking together to pressed against each other. She thinks the peasant moved first, ever bold and unafraid. She was rambling on about village’s crops, her honeyed voice drawing Regina nearer and nearer. At some point, she must have realized her audience wasn’t listening, too distracted by the way her silky curls bounced with every animated gesture. Too distracted by the dewy glow of her skin in the light of the furnace.
The room smelled of cedar and dust, of rusted hinges and bitter ale. It was not a room befitting of a queen, but the lavender smell of her skin was enough to make Regina forget her status. She was soft in a way Regina had never experienced. She still thinks of her, of the silkiness of dusty auburn locks and the sweet apple smell of her breath. She remembers her laugh in the winter, when the fireplace warms her skin and the room smells like cinnamon. She thinks of biting kisses and stinging regret, of husky words of seduction whispered in her ear.
If she closes her eyes, Regina can still hear the drumming of her pulse, the excitement she felt at the thrill of the illicit. She can still feel her soft body pressed against her, firm but pliant, and the warm, wet feel of her blood as it dripped from her fingers, long nails leaving behind deep crescent marks on perfect skin. She gasped for breath as she struggled against a vice-like grip. Regina savored the change in her eyes when she realized the queen was no longer playing her game - the cloud of lust replaced by the clarity of panic. Do you want me? She had whispered. Never ask a question you don’t want answered.
She remembers her shame the most, the clawing cloying panic of realization. Who did this peasant think she was, to dare to touch the queen? It was a rouse after all, wasn’t it? A way to pass the time, to chase away boredom. A game of cat and mouse with a challenging opponent. Do you want me? She asked as if a lady of Regina’s station could ever stoop so low. She could have had any man she chose to warm her bed. To suggest that a queen would sully herself in such a manner was inexcusable. Her mother didn’t raise a fool. The price of this indiscretion must be high.
She never told anyone about the peasant. She’s never told anyone how alive she made her feel, how her kisses felt like freedom. She thought it was a fluke, a boredom-induce thrilled. She couldn’t let people remember. She wanted to forget, to erase every trace of this woman from the Earth, to bury her hatred so deep inside, it would never be recovered. She can still hear the sounds: the thud of the girl’s body falling to the ground, the shrieking of villagers when Regina walked out with blood on her hands, the crackling roaring fire of the village being burned to the ground. No one could ever know.
AN: This is what happens when you make a joke on Twitter that if Regina killed everyone she was attracted to, there would be no survivors. And because no one hates Regina Mills like Regina Mills hates herself. Sometimes she just takes it out on others. Have some pain. Special thanks to @the-notsoevil-queen, @bigina-mills, and @x-wishes-on-fallen-stars-x for the encouragement and the sounding board. Extra thanks to Sarah (bigina-mills) for giving this little fic a look over. It’s very out of my comfort zone, but it was kind of therapeutic to write. I can definitely relate to a little self-hatred over my sexuality. I hope you love it! Go easy on me please!
Arrow puts her head in her hands and groans, cursing herself over and over again. She was so stupid when she let Alice walk her home, she was even more stupid when she let her friend kiss her right in front of their front door.
What the hell was she thinking? It was obvious that someone would see them.
The worst thing is that she hadn’t told her parents that she was dating someone. Damn it, she hadn’t even told them she liked girls. And now they found out everything all at once.
This whole situation is such a mess.
Whenever Arrow closes her eyes, she sees Robin’s face, his wide and confused eyes as he stares at her kissing with another girl.
And she feels like shit.
Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.
She should’ve told them earlier, of course she should, or should’ve mentioned something at least so they weren’t so shocked. But she did nothing. She simply waited for the right moment which never came. And now she hurt them, all of them and-
A soft knock startles Arrow and she quickly wipes away the tears that managed to run down her cheeks, takes a deep breath to steady herself and then finally says, “Come in.”
She sighs in relief when she sees Regina coming in and closing the door after herself. She cannot imagine talking with her dad right now. He probably thinks that she’s out of her mind. Of course he does. After all, everyone in this town is straight, or at least acts as if they are.
Regina sits down beside Arrow on the bed and the teenager tenses, waiting for a lecture. She looks down at her hands in what looks like shame. She feels ashamed for the things she shouldn’t. Love is love, they say, and she loves Alice, she really does, and if it means that her parents are going to be mad at her and try to change her, she’s ready to fight.
“Who would have thought,” Regina starts, making Arrow look up from her hands, her whole body still tensed, anticipating for what Regina to continue. “Alice. The pirate’s daughter,” She says, her voice sounds surprised. “You do know that in a way she’s your family, she’s your stepbrother’s sister.”
“I know,” Arrow whispers, turning away from Regina. She swallows hard over the lump in her throat and asks, “Is daddy mad at me?”
“Of course not!” Regina’s reply is instant, there’s no hesitation.
Arrow just groans.
“Well, he certainly did look mad when he dropped the milk to the ground and stared at us with his mouth opened.”
“He was just shocked,” Regina assures her, moving a little bit closer to her until her hand lands on her back and runs up and down in a comforting way. “You’re seventeen, Arrow, but he still sees you as his baby girl. If it had been Neal kissing you, his reaction would have been the same. Well, not the same probably, I actually think he would have threatened the poor kid.”
Arrow smiles at that. Yes, he would have definitely done that.
However, a lump is still in her throat and her eyes are itchy from tears that are threatening to spill out. She feels that fear of losing her family again, and she’s strong, she really is, but the thought of her father hating her is just too much.
“I know it is unacceptable to like someone the same sex in your world, but Regina, I-“
“It is not acceptable there, indeed,” Regina cuts off her rambling and takes her hand in hers, squeezes it. Arrow swallows hard and forces herself to look at her. Regina smiles and says, “Your father is not a homophobic, if that’s what you think.”
“How do you know that?” Arrow asks, feeling helpless. “He dropped the milk to the ground and stared at me!”
“He was shocked!” Regina repeats. “Do you remember how I reacted when Roland brought that girl to our house? I couldn’t utter a word the whole night because he was still my baby and he was presenting that girl to us as his girlfriend and they wanted to live together and…” she grimaces at the memory and shakes her head. “My point is your dad’s reaction was normal.”
Arrow only hums, feeling awfully tired from all of this. She moves closer to Regina and the woman instantly wraps her arm around her shoulders and kisses on top of her head, whispering that everything is fine.
“But how can you be so sure?” Arrow asks, her head rested on Regina’s shoulder. “How can you be so sure that he is not a homophobic?”
“Well, first of all, we know your father. He’s a good man and he could never ever hate someone for loving someone.”
“Oh, we don’t know. He had never dealt with it.”
“He had.”
“What?”
“I’ve never been straight,” Regina admits and Arrow pulls away from her immediately, surprised. “There were as many women in my life as there were men. Only because I chose to be with your father doesn’t change me. He knows who I am, he knows what I like and trust me, he didn’t mind one bit when he found out.”
Well, Arrow has never expected that to happen.
“We love what we love, my dear girl. If you love Alice, then be with her. I’m sure that your father is not against it.” Regina assures her one more time. “But I’m also sure that there will be no more sleepovers for you two and no more travels to Boston on your own. You’re his baby, Arrow, and he loves you.”
Arrow smiles sincerely for the first time that night, relief flooding her veins. “Thank you, Regina,” she says as she hugs her.
“Always” Regina replies before pulling away. “Now stand up and go to your dad. He’s been feeling awful for making you feel bad the whole evening,” she adds and Arrow is up on her feet instantly.
As she runs down the stairs to see her father, she realizes that she couldn’t be more thankful for the family she has.

Summary:
A night of shots and a variation on "Never Have I Ever" and "Truth or Dare" with Mal and Rob reveals more about Roni's past than either of them ever imagined.
for day 1 of @bisexualreginamillsweek ‘Regina realising she’s bisexual’.
Cora Mills is her own trigger warning.
She doesn’t know her name.
She’s one of the local girls from the village, she runs the flower stall in the main square, and everytime Regina passes her she hands her a single bloom. Each time it is a different flower. And each time it causes her stomach to flutter, her cheeks to grow warm, and she cannot help but bite her lip.
She never knows what to make of it, not really, but she always accepts it with a curtsy—gracious, as Mother has raised her to be—and never thinks to hide how it makes her smile. After her mother’s lessons, and near constant corrections, that brown haired girl with her brightly coloured daisies is sometimes the only thing that can bring even a shadow of a smile to her face.
She doesn’t know her name. And now she never will. That beautiful girl, with her beautiful smile and flowers is lying in a broken heap of brown waves and blood while Cora stands over her, and Regina cowers in a corner. The sound of her mother’s collection beating away in the background taunts her, a cacophony of drums that grows louder and louder, even as she grows weaker from her own blood loss.
“I do not know what I did to deserve a daughter as ungrateful as you,” Cora says it like she is commenting on the weather. Like she hasn’t just beaten her daughter bloody, tearing through her lip when she backhanded her so hard her head rang like a bell, before using magic to punish her. Like she hasn’t tossed her child aside to watch, dazed, as that girl from the village appears in a swirl of blue-violet smoke, confused, and then terrified when she catches sight of Cora standing beside Regina’s red-stained, crumpled form.
“If you are determined to disappoint me at least do me the courtesy of being more discreet with your perversions.” The girl’s body vanishes with a lazy wave of Cora’s hand as she turns to stare at Regina with empty eyes. “I will not have you throwing everything I have built for us away over a ridiculous phase! I think it is high time that your father and I begin to arrange a match for you.”
“Mother, I—”
Cora hardens her gaze and Regina swears she feels the little blood still in her body turn to ice. “You will learn to be a dutiful daughter, Regina. I’ll not have you disgrace your family.”
Regina somehow finds the strength to nod. “I’ll be good,” she whispers, her voice thick with tears. “I’ll be good, Mother.”
“And for goodness sake clean yourself up,” Cora sneers as she sweeps past and out of the hidden room behind their fireplace.
Regina finally lets her cries free when the door closes behind her mother’s back. Curls up as much as her aching, broken ribs will allow and sobs into the dirt covered ground.
She doesn’t know her name. But she will never forget her face or the way she made her feel. Like the world was still beautiful, if only because it was made up of pretty, sweet girls who give flowers to sad princesses, just to see them smile.
a little follow up to the deathly hallows au i kicked off during my horror fest that is also a super late addition for @bisexualreginamillsweek - favourite male/female ship, outlaw queen. previous fics for bi week.
title is taken from Run, by Bring Me The Horizon and holy fuck it is now the official song of this AU.
“Robin!” She all but throws herself into Flourish and Blotts, slamming the door behind her and not once looking at the burning looks she can feel from the people inside. “Rob—”
“Oi, calm down,” he says as he ducks out from behind a shelf he’s in the middle of stacking. “I’m here, what are you hollering—what’s wrong?” His hands come up to cup either side of her jaw, thumbs rubbing along the hinge just below her ears.
“We need to go,” she mutters as she glances around the shop. “We need to leave.”
She’s shaking, grasping handfuls of his henley and her eyes won’t stop darting between him and the rest of the shop. Robin clears his throat, slides an arm around her shoulders and pulls her behind the tills to slip through a door with Staff Only printed over frosted glass. Even when the door shuts behind them, and he tugs her down the corridor to a tiny, dingy staff room with a squashed looking sofa and a crooked coffee table.
“Sit down,” he says as he bends to sit on the table, adding “just for a moment, just to explain what’s going on okay?” when she chews at her lip and shakes her head. “Breathe… tell me what the hell is going on.”
“They’re going to round you up,” she says to her bouncing knees.
“I don’t understand.”
Swallowing down bile Regina pulls her handbag from her shoulder, pulls out that morning’s Daily Prophet, and passes it to him. “Anyone who doesn’t report to the Ministry will be considered a fu-fugitive. And anyone who does…”
“More than likely won’t be walking back out,” Robin finishes for her.
“We really need to leave.”
“Regina… if we run—”
“If we run, you will live,” she snaps. “Do you really think if you go to the Ministry, that my mother will let you leave?”
Robin throws the paper down and drops his head into his hands, scrubs at his stubble covered jaw and sighs. “Regina, I won’t go without a fight.”
She snorts and blinks back the tears burning behind her eyes. “Yeah, that’s what Daniel said too. He’s still dead.”
“Regina—”
She jerks to her feet, growling, and rakes a hand through her hair. “I didn’t say we wouldn’t fight. I said you would fucking live. You know damn well that the Order will be fighting, hell I bet that Dumbledore’s Army will be bringing them down from inside the castle walls.” She drops to her knees in front of him, cups his jaw, and rests her forehead against his. “We are no good to anyone if I am trapped in a house full of fucking Death Eaters and you’re locked up in Azkaban waiting for a big ol’ snog from a Dementor. If we want to see a world without a monster ruling it, then yes, we have to run.”
It doesn’t take long for them to be ready, they apparate to Robin’s flat after he tells his boss that he has a family emergency. John and Will are both yanking jackets on and shouldering rucksacks when they get there, a copy of the Prophet lays discarded on their kitchen table, and when John pulls them both into a bear hug Regina feels something inside her turn to lead.
This is really happening.
“Don’t let him do anything daft, eh?” Will tells her when John lets her go only for Will to scoop her into his arms.
“I won’t,” she promises.
“Aye. That goes for you an’ all,” he adds as they step back. “You two need each other. And the lads have gotten used t’havin’ you around.”
“See you around, Scarlet,” she says, punching him on the shoulder even as she tries not to cry. Because she will see them again. She refuses to accept any other outcome.
When she turns away as first John, then Will disapparate, it’s to see Robin hefting a rucksack onto his back as he offers her his hand. She tightens her hold on her own bag, tangles their fingers together and tries to smile at him.
We’ll survive, she thinks as he turns and she’s dragged through time and space, Robin’s hand the only solid thing in her life anymore. We have to.

people die btw. duh.
Dyke.
It’s hissed at them, on and off, all night. From the neanderthal sitting in the corner, glaring at them from across the shitty bar they’re sat in. And it’s making her skin crawl, blood boil, and it’s setts her teeth on edge.
Dyke.
“Relax, darling,” Mal whispers into her ear. “People like him? They’re nothing.”
Regina clenches her first around her glass, nods, then knocks back her seven-and-seven before signalling to the bartender for another. “Less than nothing,” she mutters.
Dyke.
The more it’s muttered, the more she overhears it, the more it begins to sound like them. Like Mother and… and him. She feels like she’s sixteen and trapped in a house of hate and pain all over again. Even as she sits next to one of the greatest loves in her dark, damaged life in a dingy dive bar in the middle of a nothing town in Ohio.
“Yes,” Mal says as she leans into her side and rubs her hand up-down-up-down her spine. “So how about we slow down on the booze for a little bit?”
A sardonic grin spreads across Regina’s face. “You and Robin like me when I’m tipsy.”
“We like you all the time… you’re entertaining when you’ve had a few, yes, but I think I know how to calm you down, and being drunk won’t help.” Mal winks, leans in to kiss at the hinge of her jaw as she slips her phone out to tap at the screen one handed.
“It’s our date night,” Regina protests half-heartedly. “And it’s Robin’s turn,” she adds when Mal just hums in agreement and continues to trail kisses, each one with significantly more tongue than the last. She bites at her lips and shifts in her seat when she feels her body start to react.
Pulling back, Mal tucks a few loose waves behind her ear and stares into her eyes. “You know he would love to deviate for this.”
Regina nods, chewing at the inside of her cheek. “It’s too soon.” But her eyes flick up to the grubby mirror behind the bar to see that same waste of a man looking—glaring—at where they sit.
“It will be fine.” Mal’s eyes spark when her phone beeps, she doesn’t even try to hide her smile as she glances down at the text. “He thinks so too. Twenty minutes.”
It’s almost too easy.
Mal ups the ante, drapes herself over Regina, each making sure to order several more drinks that they never consumed. Regina forces herself to relax into her hold, less on edge now that they have a solution. Towards the end of their allotted twenty minutes Mal’s phone beeps again, this time with a picture of a highlighted route.
All it takes to make sure he decides to follow them is Mal tripping to the bathroom, which had her stumbling right past his table, and knocking over his beer on her way back with a lazy apology before turning her back to him and dragging Regina out of the bar.
It’s almost so easy that for a second, just a second, Regina pitties him for being so stupid and following them for several blocks, and down an alley. Just for Robin to step out of the shadows behind him and put him in a choke-hold until he passes out.
“Evening, ladies.” He’s smiling at them, wide and bright as he lifts the man over his shoulder in a fireman's lift. “How was your date night?”
Regina steps forward to press a kiss to him before stepping back to let Mal get hers. “I have a feeling it’s about to get very eventful.”
Robin winks and jerks his head down the alley. “Down that way—there’s a derelict apartment block with a basement.”
He’s got everything ready for them. A couple of camping lanterns are spaced throughout the room, bathing it in enough dim light to let them see the centre of the basement. Rope hangs from a beam over sheets of plastic, all ready for him to have them tie the man’s wrists above his head and let him go, leaving him hanging there, head lolling forward and his feet barely scraping the ground. Robin stretches duct tape across his mouth, pressing down firmly to make sure it’s stuck.
“My, my. You have been busy,” Regina purrs as she moves to squat down beside a collection of tools. There’s a bucket next to them and three bottles of bleach.
“Told you—I was a boy scout.”
Mal snorts. “You’re full of shit.” She kisses away the mock-offended look on Robin’s face before stepping back and turning to look at their guest. “Time to wake up Sleeping Beauty.”
“After you, my loves,” Robin bows, arm sweeping out towards the man in the middle of the plastic, content to wait—for now.
Mal ducks down to pick up a hammer, twirling it around in her hand, studying him for a beat before lashing out, and crashing the hammer down to shatter his knee cap, bringing him screaming back to the land of the living. For now anyway. “Wakey, wakey,” she coos. “Remember us?”
His eyes dart between Mal and where Regina stands at the edge of the plastic with Robin’s arm around her shoulders. His eyes are so wide she can see the white all around his irises. When he yells, muffled by the tape, Mal laughs. “I’m going to take that as a yes.”
“You have been known to make quite the impression, love,” Robin teases. “I’d be a little offended if he didn’t remember you, to be honest.”
She hums and turns back to face the man suspended in the middle of the basement. “Well. I’m Mal. And those two over there, are two very important people to me. Robin and Regina. And you,” her voice hardens, velvet covered steel, “you made Regina feel very, very uncomfortable earlier. Don’t you know that homophobia is really rather antiquated nowadays?”
He struggles against his bonds, still screaming at them from behind his gag and Mal rolls her eyes at them from over her shoulder. “You know, I really don’t think he’s getting it.”
“Doesn’t look that way, no,” Regina agrees. “Perhaps you need to dumb it down a bit.”
Mal grins, full of teeth and violence, before she is whirling back around to swing the hammer into the opposite hip to his already smashed knee. Regina can feel herself relaxing as his stifled screams grow in volume.
“Screaming won’t help you,” she says when they die off, leaving him panting, dripping sweat down onto the plastic sheets, and his pants darken at the crotch. “I think we’ve scared him.”
“I wonder what that feels like,” Robin spits out before he steps forward, picking up a long, thin knife, and tracing it from the corner of the man’s terrified eye all the way down to his hips. “I wonder what it feels like to be scared shitless by someone who doesn’t know the first thing about you, by someone who makes a snap judgement of you and yours, all because they don’t understand you.”
He doesn’t change, doesn’t harden or snap as he stares deep into his eyes and says, soft and gentle, barely whispering, “you know, this could have all been avoided had you not been so ignorant,” and he pushes the knife into his side, inch by inch. The man jerks, his screams racking back up, before they seem to catch and gurgle in his throat. Choking him.
“This really is your own fault, you know,” Regina says as she moves to lean against Mal, transfixed as Robin pulls the knife back out only to start pressing it through his shoulder.
