just wanna add one more thing to this post from @azrielsdefenseattorney
this is from ACOSF:
Again, Sarah could have easily written that Azriel and Elain danced at one point at this ball. Like, one little sentence. And it would have been completely appropriate, so if she wanted to set the story their way she could have done so in this bit. There is no reason to keep it a secret.
And what's also interesting about this, is context. We know, at first, Feyre offered Elain the option to stay home, so she wouldn't be exposed to the dangers and bad energy of the Court of Nightmares, all this bullshit. Elain stood her ground saying she would go, because she's part of this court. Diva, but it's weird that she has to convince them like this at all.
Social and engaging Elain, who we know, loved going to parties and talking with people, had to stay on a party filled with actual really shady nobility people, whose violent behaviour they know bothers Elain, and she didn't even get to dance. Which could have been a little something to distract her there.
Like, we have nothing about her on this ball and, sure, it might be just because she's unconfortable, but neither Cassian or Nesta (who was avoiding her at the time) say anything about her. We have Cassian and Mor, I think, drinking something together and Azriel and Nesta dancing. No Elain.
Which for me it's always interesting, cause I think this is, absolutely, done with a purpose, but I can't tell where it's going. If it's just supposed to be some kind of twist, at some point, or if they really just don't pay much attention to Elain.
