Since things are stressful and I’ve been seeing a lot of fluff going around, I thought I’d bring back a link to my fluffiest fic! @astoundinglymade and I wrote it together last summer (it was such a pleasure to write with Katharine!) and it includes 24.5k of knitting, craft nights, a Halloween party, bowling, asexual Sirius who has severe anxiety, bisexual Remus who has chronic pain, and a whole lot of fluff (with a smidge of angst!).

My Writing

Headcanon that Remus Lupin was bisexual

He realized in 4th year while having a crush on both Sirius and his classmate Marlene McKinnon

The crush on Marlene went away, the crush on Sirius didn’t.

He asked Sirius out during the first Hogsmeade weekend of 5th year

They got engaged on Remus’ 19th birthday (Sirius proposed by showing up as Padfoot with a ring attached to his collar.

The wedding was going to take place after the war, but it never happened

Sirius wasn’t allowed any letters in Azkaban, and Remus still didn’t know what to think of the situation because his Sirius would never do that to James and Lily, but there was no way of really knowing

He didn’t find a new partner between then and Harry’s third year. It just didn’t feel right.

His engagement ring stayed in a glass case near his bed, but out of harm’s way for transformations

When he figured out that Sirius was innocent, he was overjoyed. His Sirius never hurt James or Lily

His Sirius was free again, albeit illegally

He had changed, of course, but he was still the man Remus loved

The wedding was going to be the summer after Harry’s 5th year, that way he could attend. It would have to be registered after the war was over, but the ceremony itself was to be after Harry’s 5th year

The night of the attack at the Department of Mysteries, Remus begged Sirius not to go, but it was no use. Harry was in danger, and Sirius wasn’t about to let him get hurt. So Remus went with him

When Sirius died, Remus was inconsolable. He wasn’t taking care of himself properly, and he barely spoke anymore. Transformations felt even more agonizing.

Eventually, Remus had finished the worst of his grieving and had found a companion in Nymph-no, Tonks

He fell in love with her, and although it wasn’t the same feeling as with Sirius, he knew nothing would be

When Tonks got pregnant, he didn’t know what to do

He thought that she would suddenly come to her senses and leave, but she proved her love was as true as always, and he stayed

The night Teddy was born, he was such a nervous wreck. He found himself wishing that James and Sirius were around to see this

The night he died, at the Battle,he found himself side by side with Tonks in a duel with no less than 5 Death Eaters. They took down all but one

When the killing curse hit him, he had time only to think of Teddy, and hoped that Tonks would survive to raise him lovingly

When he woke up, he was being embraced by Sirius’ familiar firm grip. James and Lily stood a few feet behind him

Tonks arrived shortly after, and the pair cried over their newly orphaned son

Sirius assured them that between Andromeda and Harry, the boy would know love while growing up

He gave Tonks a wolfish grin and then made a comment about Remus being unable to resist the Black family charm. She laughed and Remus punched them both in the arm, his own grin stretching his lips and making his eyes crinkle

He was home

Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Summary: When Sirius and Lily decide to start a craft night in the yarn store in an effort to draw in a younger crowd, they look to the bar across the street to provide refreshments. Sirius is taken with bar owner Remus from the start, but neither James nor Lily's encouragement is enough to bridge the chronic pain and anxiety that conspire to keep them apart. With time, effort, and some terrible knitting, Sirius and Remus eventually find that life has a strange way of working out.

*notes: this was such a fun project to work on with @astoundinglymade for @gettogetherfest! I’m so pleased with it, and I’m quite proud that Katharine got it uploaded while I was busy in school.
