Personal headcanon that Emily and Clyde recognised each other as bi disasters almost straight away and were an unstoppable force from then on.
Hey everyone, it's been a very long few weeks, and ficlets for random obscure fandoms seem to be all I can manage right now. Here's some pre-canon Criminal Minds stuff, because Clyde is one of my most enduring hyperfixations and Emily is awesome, and more usual updates will hopefully be coming soon.

"I have your next assignments here. Prentiss, you will focus on the male unsub. Easter, the husband is your responsibility."
Emily suppressed a sigh, and accepted the file. Wonderful. Another rich white man who thought carrying a gun made him a threat. Tsia elbowed her without looking away from the presentation, and Emily refocused in time to catch the gleam in Clyde's eyes as he took his own dossier.
"Thank you, Shaw. Now, I'm sure you have many more important matters to attend to, and I can continue the briefing from here."
Shaw gave him a long look, but knew better than to argue. He swept from the room with a huff.
The moment he was gone, Clyde held out his file to Emily. She took it with a grin, even as Sean sighed.
"Must you?"
Clyde just raised an eyebrow. "They pay me to utilise my team most effectively. That's exactly what I'm doing. If they bothered consulting me beforehand they wouldn't keep wasting their time, and ours."
Sean rolled his eyes, and Tsia leaned forward, her dark eyes sparkling. "Oh, but we must conduct our undercover operations in the most traditional, heteronormative manner possible. Just think of the children!"
Jeremy hid his laughter behind his file. Emily didn't bother. Tsia grinned at her, and leaned in to examine Emily's new target.
"I think you got the better deal here."
"I definitely got the better deal," Emily corrected. "Sorry, Clyde," she added, as she passed him her original file.
Clyde smirked. "I don't know. There's a certain charm when they think they've got the upper hand." His grin turned savage as he glanced back at the list of terrorism charges. "And it will be far more satisfying in the long run."
If Sean rolled his eyes many more times he was going to get eyestrain. "I knew I should have taken that transfer when I had the chance."
"Perhaps," Clyde allowed. "But you'd be bored without us."
Sean scowled and folded his arms, but didn't disagree. Clyde's smile faded and he turned back to the files. "All right, then. Let's get to work."
What can I say, JTF-12 are fun to write.

“What happened to you?”
The scowl on Clyde’s face as he limped over would have cowed an UnSub, but Emily didn’t so much as bat an eyelid. “C’mon, you know you might as well just tell me.”
“And me,” Tsia chimed in, from in between them. “You know you can’t handle the two of us.”
“You do remember I’m your boss, don’t you?” Clyde bit out, but he broke off with a wince as he sat down and Emily had a sudden flash of understanding. She leaned forward to grin at Tsia.
“I think someone had too much fun last night.”
Tsia’s dark eyes were sparkling with amusement as they met hers. “Is it serious? Do we get details?”
“No,” said Clyde flatly.
“Spoilsport,” said Tsia. “Was he at least cute?”
“We are not having this discussion,” Clyde said, but his ears tinged red and Emily grinned.
“Definitely cute,” she said. “Good for you.”
“I can fire either of you any time I like,” Clyde muttered.
“Yeah, but you’d miss us,” said Emily.
“Heaven knows why.”
Emily snickered, and Tsia winked at her before clearing her throat. “How about this. You tell us if you’re seeing him again, and we tell Sean and Jeremy that I kicked you in the wrong place during training last night.”
Clyde snorted. “I’d have thought you two were busy enough with your own dating lives without worrying about mine.”
Emily felt her cheeks heat up, and Tsia pulled a face. "You are absolutely no fun, you know that?”
Clyde rolled his eyes and shifted yet again on the chair. “Fine. No, of course it’s not serious. Who has time for serious in this job?”
Emily would have patted him on the shoulder if she didn’t know how much he despised casual physical contact. She glanced at Tsia, who’s own amusement had faded, but before she could say anything Clyde straightened.
“Anyway, we’ve got more important matters to deal with, so if you’re quite finished with my love life?”
“For now,” Tsia allowed. “But we’ll find you something some day.”
Her hand dropped down to catch Emily’s, and Emily nodded. Clyde deserved that much. Clyde just quirked an eyebrow. “Oh dear. Should I be worried?”
“Why, Clyde,” Emily purred. “Don’t you trust us?”
The expression on Clyde’s face had both of them hiding laughter in their sleeves. Sean walked in, took one look at them, and downed his coffee in one.
“I don’t even want to know,” he said flatly. “Jeremy’s called in sick, and I refuse to deal with whatever this is by myself.”
Tsia batted her eyelashes at him. “Whatever do you mean, Sean?”
Sean rolled his eyes, and Clyde snorted as he tried to get comfortable, and Emily sat back in her seat and let it all wash over her. Some days she really loved her job.
