new JTF-12 assignment just dropped
PSA for all the Emily Prentiss fic people out there (except those of you who don't care about her work history, no hard feelings, scroll on): on the Doyle case, Emily was employed by the CIA, not by Interpol.
I know 'work for Interpol again?' in S7 threw everybody, so here is JJ's entire speech from the start of Lauren after Emily's "what are you gonna do? tell him?" moment in Fahey's car:
"Okay so I talked to a colleague from Langley [CIA HQ] - he couldn't give me Emily's full CIA history, but he could give me this. She assumed the identity of Lauren Reynolds as part of a special task force called JTF-12. Assembled after 9/11, the CIA and Western agencies contributed their best and brightest." [questions from the team] "[Doyle] was their last case. And now the JTF is on his hit list. Jeremy Wolff was victim number one, from Germany's BND. Sean McAllister at Interpol was the second. He's the one that brought the JTF in to work the Doyle case. He was murdered last week in Brussels with his wife and daughter. Tsia Moseley of France's DCRI - she got engaged to Jeremy earlier this year; after he died, she fled to DC. And team leader Clyde Easter, British SIS*."
(*This is honestly weird, he'd probably call it MI6 but maybe JJ / the State Department doesn't for valid reasons I don't know about, and anyway this is irrelevant.)
So okay. JTF stands for Joint Task Force, because these people all work for different agencies. The team was brought onto the Doyle case by Sean McAllister at Interpol, because Interpol wanted Doyle, and Doyle was a terrorist, and this task force was catching terrorists. But until she leaves the FBI after S7, Emily didn't work for Interpol - she worked for the CIA. And Sean brought the team in for this case, but Clyde was the team leader, and he also didn't work for Interpol at that point - he worked for MI6 / SIS.
Back to these with a Strauss design! Her death hit so hard, her actress did an amazing job and it was so painful to watch. Reminded me of brokenstars death with the way her senses went out. Anyway I don’t really know where she’d fit in terms of the warrior cats hierarchy, but I definitely don’t think she’d have nine lives, I think the nine lives would be given to field team leaders who were going up against other cats directly (Gideon, Hotch, etc.) and risk their lives on a daily basis. Trying to fit her into the warrior cats roles makes me want to reexamine everyone’s roles overall, but I wanna focus on the designs for now. I’ve been meaning to do Blake for a bit now as well but I’ve also gotta finish Doyle and the JTF-12 team. Haven’t done a fullbody for Clyde yet but I did test out some designs and landed on one I liked with a headshot.

emily prentiss centric, mentions of emily/ian

lauren reynolds.
that was her name. nothing else. her past didn’t matter anymore. she had to live second by second, minute by minute. that was the only way she would survive.
sitting in that dimly lit dive bar on the outskirts of boston, that was the only thought running through her mind. lauren reynolds, lauren reynolds, lauren reynolds.
"Sorry I missed your funeral" he's so funny
i’m at the doyle arc in my rewatch and i would totally watch a spin-off based on the jtf-12 team, like just that phone conversation between emily, tsia and clyde at whatever park in dc was enough to convince me of their team dynamic, also i love tsia i wish she had been in the show for longer
opinions: did Emily and Clyde sleep together?
yes
no
Sharing credit for this theory with @overpoweredcacti , but Teresa is Clyde Easter. No, I don’t take constructive criticism.
