1. How did you first hear about the show?I first heard about it when it first came out, but it was like this elusive thing for me (because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to see it anytime soon) so I didn’t pay much attention to it. As a result I knew practically nothing about when I saw it for the first time - I knew it was about Mormon missionaries in Africa. That’s it. I don’t know how I managed to avoid major spoilers for four years but I’m so grateful that I did :D
9. Who’s your favorite Price? Why?I answered this in the other reply! But I’ll repost it here even though you already know my answer ;D Kyle Selig. He was my first Price and is still my favorite. I love his voice and I love what he does with the character - in the big moments and the small ones. Like, one of my favorite things is after Arnold mispronounces Nabulungi’s name for the second time (after they first meet), he apologizes to her and pronounces her name correctly. I know it’s a very brief moment in the midst of lots of big moments, but it’s so important and it really stood out to me. :DI also need to mention Gavin Creel because I really loved him as Price too! His Kafe scene is still a stand out for me :D
10. Who’s your favorite Cunningham? Why?Nyk Bielak, definitely! He’s such a great Cunningham. I think he really manages to walk a fine line between making Cunningham awkward and weird and not…creepy and annoying. Which I think is difficult sometimes. And he has the saddest little face during the breakup scene, aw. I’ve seen 2 other Broadway Cunninghams and I loved Chris and Christian too but Nyk is the fave, for me
11. Who’s your favorite Naba? Why?I’m really trying to limit myself to actors I’ve seen live!!! So I’m saying Nikki Renee Daniels, she has a terrific voice and she’s always my favorite in Baptize Me because she makes it so fun.
12. Who’s your favorite McKinley? Why?Grey Henson aka the light of my life. I love his McKinley so, so much. Whenever I see the show I always find myself laughing over something he did days later. I can’t even explain what they are specifically, it’s basically everything he does as McKinley, really. He makes a lot of great choices and I just think he’s hilarious. It’s hard not to watch him when he’s onstage!
21. Cast your dream performance of the show.I also answered this one in my other reply! Reposting here: A few weeks ago I would’ve said that I wanted to see a best friends show (aka Kyle and Nyk) but that happened, yay! So I’m going to cheat and say that I’d like them to round up every cast I haven’t had a chance to see (going back to the OBC) and just have them perform the show back to back to back. Like an epic movie marathon. Then I’d be able to see everyone I want to see, and also compare them :D
