bouncing in place like a nerd bc i’m hosting a summer solstice celebration tomorrow with my witchy friends & im so excited. i made sangria (with intent👀), ive got stuff to make honey cake & lemon cookies, i’m gonna be wearing glitter & flowers & set up an altar & oh my god i can’t even put into words how excited i am!! aaaa!!!!!
look all im saying is if the real life queen charlotte could make her husband grant a famous lesbian couple a pension so they could live their lives together in peace, the bridgerton one can do the same
“you’re trying to figure out how to fix him, right? well, you can’t. because he’s not broken … he’s tarzan, growing up in the jungle. and you’re the guy that comes along and makes him feel like an asshole ‘cause he doesn’t know how to use a fork. it’s not rocket science”
feeling a mighty need to write an essay about the narrative & thematic significance of claudia’s character & how she represents the human element of the prewar world & functions as an immediate, visceral reminder of the normal, decent people whose entire world was destroyed by the bombs. unfortunately my adderall has already worn off & i still have to do laundry before work tomorrow😩
i love what a petty little bitch monty is the first time he meets charles in human form- he’s still salty about the shit-talking from episode one huh
“I may not be the bravest, but I have excellent reading comprehension skills” i love her your honor
following the subreddits about FROM can be really frustrating with how so many people on there react to & talk about the show but also. as an autistic bitch with a special interest in sociology it’s fucking FASCINATING like
-the insistence on theorizing that whichever (usually very innocuous) character in the cast currently looks the most stereotypically old/frail is secretly evil/“the mole” (tillie & henry i would die for you)
-the egregious amount of hate & vitriol towards fatima (wow what a shocker that people violently hate the young brown woman going through a traumatic, medically impossible demon pregnancy, definitely because she’s “annoying” & not for any other reason)
-the similarly vitriolic hate towards ethan, who remains one of the most well-written child characters in a traumatic situation i’ve ever seen on tv, as someone who has plenty of personal experience both being a traumatized child & caring about & working with children ethan’s age (ironically, mostly comments calling ethan unrealistic/annoying)
-everything about acosta, full stop.
-endless posts about “filler” & about the mystery not being explained quickly or simply enough (extra funny/annoying because every single shot/line of dialogue in this show is so clearly purposeful & calculated, & the writers & actors have confirmed countless times since the beginning of the show that there’s a complete 5-season story arc planned out with a definitive ending, they just need to be renewed long enough for it to happen)
-the weird obsession with making sure everybody knows how much they hate kristi’s haircut, as well as demonizing her for not immediately returning kenny’s feelings/reconnecting with her fiancée (a woman). giving both thinly veiled homophobia & incel who believes in the friendzone
-frequent posts defending frank, the alcoholic father from the first few episodes of season 1 who decided to go in The Box against boyd’s wishes due to his guilt about his negligence having led to the horrific deaths of his wife & young daughter. interestingly, these posts tend to frame frank (a white man) as the victim of boyd (a black man), insisting that boyd forced him to go in the box
-the people insisting on defending jim’s routine neglect of his children & dismissal of his wife & blaming his toxic behavior on them for not doing enough emotional labor for him
+plenty of other little things, these are just the most widespread ones with the most obvious sociological implications
