So I met a guy the other day and while we were talking, he asked me if I liked watching movies. I said I did. And he instantly said 'romantic, right?' And like for a full 10 seconds I didn't know how to reply to that because I like romantic movies but that's not the ONLY genre of movies I watch. So without providing much of an explanation I just said 'no'. And he said, "THAT'S STRANGE, GIRLS LIKE ROMANTIC MOVIES". I hate this. Just because I'm a female you guys think I sit on my couch all day long dreaming of prince charming and watching cheesy movies on TV. I'd rather watch Harry Potter. Or all those awesome Sherlock episodes in one go. And I'm not lying when I say for the next hour of my date I was trying to tell him exactly what was wrong with the statement he just made and when he still didn't understand, I just had to POLITELY get up and leave and block his phone number FOREVER.

Having survived the first 6 months of university, I am proud to say I am not pregnant, I am not on drugs, my life is in tact and I still have the phone I came here with. Cape Town has shown my friends and I some pretty intense flames over the past few weeks and I fear what the streets of Rondebosch have in store for us next semester. But I can tell you what I have in store for all of us, lots of studying lots of partying and lots and lots of pictures. Goodbye to dating bar tenders and unemployed hotties and hello to the lives of the rich kids of Instagram. The boys that will take us out for dinner and pay for club entry, the boys with the yachts and the boys who take you Gucci shopping on a casual Wednesday. Goodbye settling for shit and hello high life. You live only once so make it the classiest, craziest adventure you'll ever go on!
