Bitcoin platform Luno expands to new markets across Europe
Luno, a popular Bitcoin platform, has announced its expansion to 35 new markets across Europe.
Moreover, the platform also received USD 9 million in a Series B funding round, led by London-based Balderton Capital. New investors AlphaCode and existing investors Digital Currency Group also participated in the round. This follows Luno’s USD 4 millionSeries A round, which was led by Naspers.

(Bloomberg) — Hong Kong people who invested with a venture describing itself as a bitcoin platform are concerned their money may be gone, according to Leung Yiu Chung, a lawmaker who has taken up their case.
About 30 people plan to file complaints with the police after finding they can no longer reach staff at Mycoin.hk, Leung said by phone Monday. Mycoin.hk describes itself on its website as a global bitcoin trading platform and application service provider. Calls to phone numbers on Mycoin.hk’s website weren’t answered.

Exton firm buys Bitcoin platform; accountants quit

WPCS International Inc., a publicly-traded Exton-based communications systems company, has had a busy week:
- On Dec. 27, the company said its accountant, CohnReznick LLP of Roseland, NJ, which had “raised substantial doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern” in its past two annual reports, has resigned and not been replaced. No reason for ConhReznick’s resignation was given.
- On Dec. 26, WPCS said its newly-purchased New York subsidiary, BTX Trader LLC, “has released a beta version of its Bitcoin trading platform,” enabling customers to speculate on the electronic independent currency.

Chinese 'damas' mad for bitcoin

(ECNS) — With the Chinese market increasingly optimistic about the digital currency’s potential growth, an online bitcoin platform has released that 40 percent of its VIP traders are Chinese women, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Bitcoin has been surging to new highs worldwide since July, and the price of one bitcoin once hit a record high of 2,700 yuan ($443) on huobi.com, a Chinese online bitcoin platform.
Chinese trading activity in bitcoin has grown as well. By the end of October, 100,000 bitcoins had been traded each day, accounting for half of the global transaction volume, according to the Genesis Block, a research firm that follows bitcoin.
