Apple 'witch hunt' burns VC-backed Bitcoin wallet at the stake

Apple is not a fan of Bitcoin wallets. Today, the Cupertino, California-based company put the kibosh on Coinbase, a well-known San Francisco-based startup with almost $7 million in venture capital on the line.
“Apple is obviously still on the same witch hunt from last year,” wrote Caleb Chen of BitcoinBlogger, who specializes in the currency and first reported the story.
Last year Apple removed other Bitcoin wallets—an encrypted means to buy and store the virtual currency—built by Blockchain.info and BitPak. Although Blockchain.info survived the incident, and now has a wallet back on the store, the blacklisting ended up too much for BitPak, which ceased operation.
