@biteytm bc i felt like it:
“ our daughter is bringing her boyfriend home this weekend to meet us so be nice. ” they didn’t get to see her as much since school had started back up once again, so she didn’t want to give her any reason to stop visiting them. “ besides being hard on him would only push her closer to him. ”

she quirked an eyebrow to him at his skepticism. her face slowly softened as he gave his next question. bella ran her fingers through her hair as she looked at him through the mirror. ‘well i don’t know if you’re always prone to monologuing but the part with the tomato soup is what got me intrigued before i decided it was time for you to get up.’

“You think I'm talking crazy. In a different language you might not understand.”
“Oh, that's alright. That's just the kind of life that made me who I am.”
Hayley heard someone coming and had expected it to be a pack member headed back from their run. She got up and walked out to the porch, her arms crossing as she stands and waits for the approaching figure walking up to the house. They didn't smell familiar to her.
She didn't recognize him whatsoever and her brows furrowed a bit at the stranger who had now gotten close enough for her to call to him.
"Can I help you?" She asks, polite but on guard.

“That’s not...that’s not how you are meant to hold that...” Idris chimes in, brows furrowing as he approaches the newcomer, gingerly trying to move their hands to better cradle the canopic jar. “I realize it doesn’t look like much but this is...centuries old and very, very fragile.” He tries to explain. “You must treat it like you’re holding a newborn...very, very carefully.”
@biteytm continued from this: “That’s convenient” Nate remarks simply, he’s careful not to step over the boundary line. He feels a rush of pride at how well she’s crafted this. Even when he had all of the Hanson magic at his fingertips, he never cast a spell so advanced. His gaze rises from the boundary line to settle of the other trinkets around the room. Nate can no longer necessarily feel the magic, but he knows enchanted objects when he sees them. He suspects there’s a number of items in this room older than the teenager who has made a shelter of it. “Where … what is this place, Hope?”
“Somewhere most people won’t even come near, anyway. . . It’s, um, one of the places that the, uh. . th-the Hollow. . occupied. Those vines that could kill my family used to grow here. . .” Hope walked slowly around the room, glancing between Nate and the walls. “I couldn’t come here for years. Anything that reminded me of her. . . You remember. . .” It had taken almost two years for Hope to be able to even look at blue lights without having a panic attack. “One day, though, I decided that I didn’t want to be scared anymore. She was gone, but she still had this power over me. . and I hated it. So. I came here. And I made this place a sort of. . sanctuary for myself. No one gets in unless I invite them, and with these objects magnifying my own considerable power. . I think it would take about three large covens to break the boundary spell I have on the house.”
